Aveline just tackled and started beating my face in... and it was pretty awesome. Being rivals with her was so much more interesting than the friendship path for me.

Hehe, I'm gonna give it a try when I get the chance. For now I managed to get all characters on friendly and it made for a great emotional story. I'll see how the rivalry plays out later

I just love Aveline.
For my hawke ,by the end of the game , she 's familly.
I can't help but think mixing Aveline and isabella would produce the absolute perfect woman

Seriously , i was really surprise , cos there's something really sweet about her.
She's just a nice woman.
I would have made her viscount of Kirkwall if i could.

Yeah, first two playthroughs I was friends with her and it was ok I guess. But it was nice having someone who could butt heads and stand up to Hawke like she did on my rivalry run. I was a huge ****** the entire game and did some despicable things and finally on her last Questioning Beliefs quest I was argueing with her and she called me a highwayman and commenced pounding my face in. I was like, did someone really just stand up to me...


While I'm here I'll say that Aveline was a character I anticipated not liking before the game came out. But she eventually won me over and is probably the companion I hold the most respect for now.

I didn't know the captain condoleance quest was bugged...
I Thought it was wierd the way it turned out , hawke telling aveline to shut up.
I just load a old save and take aveline on my party to do the quest as it was meant to be
I'm so glad i did ...damn , aveline and her father story was so beautiful , i'm really moved ..
I didn't know i could love her more !

I assume being a rival with her means extorting people for money, shaking people whenever you get the chance, turning her down when she asks for help romancing Donnic.

In my second play through, I'm finding her a bit prickly. I have nothing but friendships points but she chews me out at the beginning of Act 2 and then complains when I give her the shield.

It's quite entertaining.

I have to hand it to Bioware, Aveline was amazing! She's one of the best written female characters I have seen.

Yeah, I just gotta pipe up to say how much I love Aveline. Great VA and fantastic writing. Perfect foil or bff for Hawke. I like her rival reactions a lot.

I adore Aveline. It's refreshing to see such a tough female character with such depth. She and Isabela make for great foils, and I love how Aveline's rough exterior doesn't preclude her from romance. I also like how her character's not defined by that romance (as can happen with other "tough girl" characters once they fall in love). She's definitely one of my favorite characters in this game and gives me great hope for the continually evolving portrayal of females in gaming.

Before the release of the game, I'd never thought it possible but... Aveline is, after Anders, my favorite companion, along with Varric. She is incredible. Her reaction to "All That Remains" was so emotional and powerful, her words so intense... Amazing writing and amazing character development.

Just finished DAII. My first love will always be Morrigan. In DAII Aveline was my favorite. I played avoiding spoilers and when I finished the game without a successful romance I thought I had screwed up somewhere. Then I found out I couldn't romance here anyway. So, I am wondering if like with Morrigan leaving in DAO, Bioware want some player markets to want more and maybe we will see a romancing possiblity in a future expansion or DLC. Unlike, Morrigan at least she fought by my side in the end--despite me siding with the Mages. Great game. Aveline was the best part. I even ignored (it was hard) Isabella in hopes of romancing Aveline. Oh well.

After Isabela's comment, I found myself staring at Donnic's lips when he talked. They are very nice, which makes me wonder.
1. Did someone write that line and the artist gave him nice lips?
2. Did the artist give him nice lips and someone wrote that line after seeing the model?
3. Are his lips normal and I simply perceive them as strong because Isabela has described them as such and I otherwise have never looked at the lips on the men in this game?
