Aveline is the best character, and in my last playthrough I finally rivalled her - and I love how even rivalry-ing Aveline you're still being supportive in a dickish kind of way. (Plus I was far more satisfied than I should have been when she finally just started beating the crap out of Hawke and then still finished the conversation with "I'm here for you" or something. Aveline I love you so much why aren't you real.)

Just stopping by to show some Aveline love. I think she's one of the best video game characters I've ever encountered. I love this woman! I love her back story. I love her relationship with Donnek (such a perfect match!). Her story about her father reading to her made me cry and was one of the most touching moments in the game. Major props to the writers for this amazing character.

It's in the codex, and happens in the three year gap between the end of act two and the beginning of act three. So yes, it just doesn't happen happen. You can't witness it.
Question, Aveline fans. I've heard that after All That Remains, Aveline can tell Hawke a story about her father when you next go see her. However, I've only had her offer, followed by three variations of responding with 'no'. Is that it, or is there some trick to getting more that I've overlooked?

Oh I see.
I didn't get a story, and I tend to replay conversations ad nauseam to see the different dialog options, however I might have still missed it, or missed some prior condition for it to show up.
