Can't believe its been a month since anyone has posted here!

But just wanted to bring up something and wanted to know if anyone else has noticed.

After patch 1.04 during the Long Road if I pick the humorous option at the end that is suppose to initiate the kiss from Aveline it does not happen anymore for my Female Hawkes where prior to the patch it did.

I was really disappointed that my humorous Hawke did not get a kiss from her. Its one of the my favorite parts in the game because its spontaneous and out of total happiness!

So I wanted to check to see if the kiss would still work for my other hawkes. So reloaded a save for each of my Hawkes near that point and I noticed that when I click the sarcastic option Aveline will not kiss any of my females. Where prior to 1.04 patch all 4 of my Female Hawkes had been able to get a kiss from Aveline.

Just wanted to know if it is just me or did they change it? Does male Hawke still get the kiss from Aveline? Out of my 5 play throughs I still don't have any male Hawkes so I can't check myself.

It was sort of a bug. I say "sort of" because what actually happened was this:
I wrote two variations of the conversation, and then went to my beleaguered cine guy Ryan Ebenger and said "I did a low impact path and a more involved path (the kiss). What do you have time for?" And he looked at me bleary eyed and broken, because Aveline was the largest follower at that point. Which is why I assured him that the low impact branch was fine.

And then he went ahead and did both, because Ryan is a man who does not know the meaning of the word quit, or sleep. But, the linking was only partially functional because I never expected to get it. So long story short, after the patch the kiss is more sensibly gated by taking the flirt options during The Long Road, instead of just linking off the fall-through option out of the blue. Hope that helps.

Thank you for the response! It helps a lot! Thought perhaps her breath might of smelt from Sandals enchantment soup.

Also I am sure I am not the only one that loved that spontaneous kiss scene so I hope Ryan knows how awesome he is for going the extra mile and adding it in!

That whole quest made me love Aveline even more than I thought I possibly could. Though I understand why you changed the kiss. It does make more sense as an added gift to those who got there heart broken by her.

I received the kiss from her in my first play through unintentionally with a Humorous Hawke and it is why it is one of the most memorable scenes for me because I was so surprised and in awe haha. It was such a special moment, was heartwarming to see her so happy!

It also explains why I didn't receive the kiss this time around or when I reloaded my previous saves, I usually save The Long Road till the end of Act 2 to relieve the sad mood of Leandra's death so by then I already have a LI so I usually won't flirt with her.

Oh and while your here just wanted to say the quest "The Captains Condolences" is probably for me anyways one of the most touching dialogues in the game. It is really moving and I am so glad the bug was fixed in 1.03.

Ok since there isnt that much...newish Aveline art out there....I figure I slowly update em every other day or week till they start building up again.
...I refuse to let this page die until Chris or someone else puts it down  like Wesley! *ahem*
Anywho here be our Aveline for the week...soak it in people.<3

I rather like Aveline, she always seemed like that sister character for your Hawke but is it just me or did she not like elves all that much?

I didn't really get that vibe. She gets along fine with Fenris and Merrill. If you're referring to those elves hiding out amongst the qunari, I'll note that they were criminals.

Now, mages are another story.

You didn't like her at first? The first we see of her is beating a Darkspawn to the ground and cutting it's head off because it was a personal threat to her husband. Then she prepares for a hopeless fight because until she's dead, her loved one must be kept safe. How can you not love that?
