Aveline is my favorite DA2 character because she is all the things I wish I could be. She's intensely loyal, protective of people she cares about, a dedicated leader, and also quite amusing. I imagine that she and my female Hawke are best friends. It's so great to see a female warrior who actually looks like she is physically strong, yet she also gets happily married.

Thread revived for the sake of Aveline!
Seriously, Aveline is awesome. A strong female character who isn't made to be eye candy. It's always a plus to have a follower who doesn't need constant coddling. She makes me feel like I'm not the only sane person in the party trying to herd a pack of crazies.
it's strangely refreshing in this game to talk with someone who doesn't get completely unreasonable...

I really appreciate Aveline's character. She respects both the law and her values, knowing where the boundaries are, yet knowing that following them mindlessly isn't always the best thing to do.
She seems pretty underrated, though, in terms of I've not seen as many people ardently loving her (or hating her, in fact) as I have the others. I think her reasonableness sort of blends into the background when amongst a pack of extremes.
