People hate Aveline? Why? We don't know anything about her--how can they hate her?CruserBoii wrote...
I wasn't really interested in her, but the more people hate her, I find myself liking her more. I dunno, I think if she didn't have that headband or that glare in the concept art she'd look pretty good, imo.
Because she isn't a skinny supermodel perhaps.errant_knight wrote...

I very nearly replied to that with a really unpleasant stereotype and generalisation about the way the average gamer sees women. The fact that I'm not sure it's untrue in this case is worrying.errant_knight wrote...

Don't companions now have 'unique' body models.Saibh wrote...

Doesn't look like that to me.

She does change into armor but it's a bit spoilerish so they dont show it.slimgrin wrote...
Seeing her in such light armor when she's supposed to be a knight of sorts, I'm not sure what to think. I understand there needs to be some suspension of disbelief when I'm playing a video game, but this is a little like Miranda toting a machine gun in her high heels.
I still like her design though. I'm intrigued by her already.

I think the design looks terrible frankly, especially the concept art. Nothing unique about it at all, on any level, and it's just not good design either. The story of her character is pretty cliche and tired as well, nothing interesting there that I can see.
Just not feeling it.
That's absolutely shocking, considering how everything else about DA2 so far has lit you on fire.

Well Mr. Cranky Pants I actually think I've been quite fair... Isabella I liked, as well as the bearded dude, and I said so. I love the location concept art, I love the change in story and have backed you up many times on those changes. I'm just not feeling the art style mainly, and I worry about the PC port quality, but otherwise I have tried to be very positive.

Thats brilliant as I was hoping she was a Brienne-esque character except without all the 'unrequited love, lack of self-esteem' thing.David Gaider wrote...
There are definitely some comparisons that could be drawn, though Brienne is very much all about her unrequited love and her lack of self-esteem-- Aveline's very different from that, even if she is an equally no-nonsense sort of female warrior. I think Luke's done a great job with her.
Oh, and who'd Luke write in Origins?
can you tell us something aboute aveline?Lukas Kristjanson wrote...

I wasn't the owner of any of the folowers in the main game, if that's what you're wondering. I joined DA:O relatively late as I was busy with ME1 and some background stuff. The big characters were well underway, so I wrote busloads of little people and polish throughout, as well as Leliana's Song after coming back from ME2. I get around.

I like Aveline's look. I'm glad she's not wearing a bra made out of dental floss, or strips of leather, a la Jack or Morrigan.
