I think Aveline's really pretty. Also, it's hard not to be impressed by a woman who can bench-press a cow.

I wouldn't mind if she wanted to bench-press me:wub: (I know, I'm awful)

Tall, muscular warrior who gets frowny at fanfic. ~sigh~ Yes, this is shaping up to be the only BioWare game where I play a spellcaster.

I know the feeling. I'm not sure whether I'm going to be a mage or a rogue, but I'm definitely doing a non-warrior playthrough if Aveline is an LI for us gals. (And dammit she better be)

So would I be awful if I said I have a girlfriend who totally could?

Every time I see Wesley's name, I can't help but think of Wesley from Buffy/Angel. I'm wondering if they share any personality traits, since I know Mr. Gaider is a Whedon fan. :P

This is official information now.

Also I'm sold on her. AVELINE FOR LI

I <3 Wil Wheaton. I met him at PAX, and acted like a swooning fangirl.

As for Ser Wesley Vallen, I don't remember who named him. Might have been me, but if he's named after Wesley Wyndham-Price there's no reason behind it other than me liking the name.

I suspect that Isabala will be a female same-sex love interest and it seems unlikely that there would be two.

Not that I would object, mind you.

Though I suppose I would have to pick between them, which would be... odd.

That would make for an awkward moment, because rather than doing the "you need to pick between us" conversation, Aveline would beat the ever living snot out of Isabela for macking on her LI.

In theory. ;)

Isabela appears to be a love interest, and being bi, is a shoe-in for being available to female characters, yes. This is actually my biggest worry regarding an Aveline LI: that the option might be left out on the basis of the unwritten "one F/F LI per game" rule.

But really, I want to romance the female war-goddess for a change, not the rogue. I mean, sure, I'd romance Isabela on a warrior playthrough, but.

I'd make 'em, but I'm pretty neutral on her thus far. Maybe because I'm chanting "Mhairi Mhairi Mhairi" in my head.

Interesting!

May I whomever was her main writer(Luke?), why he wanted to write Aveline? What about the character did he find appealing?

Sorry, can't really say without spoilers, but Aveline has elements that I hadn’t touched on in a few years and just wanted to take a shot at. You can tell by looking at her that she’s driven, but she’s got some competing traits that were fun to balance. Plus her place in the story gives her an interest in all the other followers, so I kind of get a piece of them as well. But all the writers do, really. Defining the weave of relationships has been interesting for everyone on the team. The DAII characters are fitting together in ways that aren’t immediately obvious, and the time factor allows us to do some neat things.
So, you know, I hope you like them. Or hate them for interesting reasons. Six of one.Image IPB

Reading fanfiction about a character you created is like watching someone touch your wife, yes. And not in a fun Tickle-Me-Elmo kind of way. Not that I mind people touching her, really. We have an open marriage. I just don't want to watch it happening.

It can't possibly be that bad can it?...Here take this excerpt, I am sure it won't hurt at all

- - - - - - - - -
It became instantly clear that Morrigan was fighting for her life. Flemeth had unleashed an 'Arcane Assault', an unending wave of magic attacks.

It was a sight no child should ever have to witness...

Charge after charge Morrigan had to defend, each one seemingly greater than the next.. She was fighting with every fiber of her being not to be overwhelmed.

Ikuku lounged at Flemeth in desperation, sailing through the air like a missile to break the witch's concentration and stop the attack.

As he surged toward her the gold outlines of a repulsion glyph rose from the floor like an impenetrable wall, knocking him backward. He crashed hopelessly  into a shelf at the far end of the room.

When he rose, he could see that his fall had caused Morrigan to lose focus, Flemeth's attacks had penetrated her defense, she was now absorbing the arcane blasts

Then for the first time in his life he heard Morrigan cry in pain.

Time seemed to stop for Ikuku.  In that moment of threat to his very existence he reached within himself for an answer. In that moment also a response from beyond brushed at the fringes of his desperation.

Meanwhile, sensing her advantage against Morrigan, Flemeth reared her energies for a massive finishing blast. Consumed by her focused rage, she did not anticipate what came next

Amid the crackle of arcane fury, out of nowhere and everywhere, the atmosphere was suddenly penetrated by the uttered words:

"Estatis Horume"

Silence

A tremor swept into the air extinguishing all magical energies in the vicinity and beyond

Morrigan stared in bewilderment as the accumulating Nimbus of Power around Flemeth dissolved into thin air.

For a being possessed almost entirely of magical energies the shock was catastrophic

Flemeth screamed hideously

Oh yes.  The tabletop game was quite epic @ PAX, with him.

So, does the surname "Vallen" belong to Aveline or Wesley?
