I like the chins, too. :?
Then again, most of my characters usually have strong chins/jaws anyway.

I believe that's the part of the cutscene where she is punching a darkspawn into submission. PUNCHING. For daring to attack Wesley.

Yes, it is awesome.

...

Why oh why did you give her a sword? I'd be so awesome to have her chrusing faces through the game by the sheer power of fisticuffs...

Especially if Hawke & Co. go up against Flemeth or a dragon later on. The slo-mo finishing blow would've been epicPosted Image.

To be honest, considering how rarely the devs comment on such matters and that Luke was replying in regards to exactly the 'inappropriate armor' issue I really think it's a stretch not to think she'll wear heavier armor later on. There is no guarantee she will wear full massive armor, but I think it's very unlikely he commented because she'll be switching to a flowery dress around the half way point.

Obviously we don't know for sure, but thats what optimism is for?

Shhh!  If you go around being sensible, the devs won't have to give us a screenshot of Aveline in heavy armour to shut us up.

I had the perfect image for this, but now I forget...

Judging from the description on her character profile page, Aveline reminds me of a character from Terry Goodkinds books, or rather a mixture of several.

So uhmmmm.....she punches a hurlock in the mouth bare fisted several times and she is not getting tainted?

Pretty sure it has to enter your bloodstream. While I wouldn't recommend punching a hurlock barefisted I'm sure Aveline will be fine as long as it doesn't bite her hard enough to penetrate her skin.

Contrary to Hollywood belief you stand a fair chance of splitting your knuckles if you repeatedly use your fist to strike something hard like that.

Especially given the fact that is basically a skull surrounded by toughened leather (I think).

Yeah, but this is Aveline we're talking about. You know, bench presses cows and wrestles with Chuck Norris.

In the novels, Utha fights darkspawn barefisted. But she's a Grey Warden.

I loved UthaPosted Image. The first thing I asked my friend when she got Awakening (before I could) was whether or not Utha was in it.

Will Aveline have an Orlesian accent, since her father was a Chivalier? Or will it be more of a mix, since she grew up out of Orlais?

Then that somewhat defeats the point of your initial explanation. Clearly the real answer is she infects the taint, rather than the other way around.

I changed my mind. I like the fact that Aveline is hideous. Because really I don't want my Hawke to have any competition.

Besides everyone shouldn't look like Marylin Monroe, anyway.

Hideous?  Um... I'm no fan of the DA2 art style, but Aveline's far from hideous.  At worst, she's (refreshingly) normal-looking.

"Not Hollywood beautiful" does not equate to "hideous".

Having played Awakening and Origins, I wouldn't bet on the chins being entirely bug related.

Yes, much like Judge Dredd and Desperate Dan*.

*Who, I might add, can lift a cow using only one arm.

"Appropriate." This is a fixed concept then? Meh.
I couldn't care less about the "accuracy" or "appropriateness" or "sensibleness" of outfits. They're fixed, mostly. Once that decision was announced I've only cared if they look cool, and coolness is the definition of subjective. Within the narrative I'm willing to accept the idea that what Hawke and his party wear early in the game is subject to change for obvious contextual reasons. Beyond that, I don't really know or care, beyond hoping that I personally think the outfits look cool, and aren't patronizing like Miranda or Jack.

are you trying to be dense?

Sensible as associated to what is going on around them? yes, that might not be a fixed concept but I dare you to go to a marine stationed in Afghanistan and ask them "hey private, do you think it's sensible not to wear your helmet in the fielt? how about your vest?"

also..... in your mind must Fixed equal not sensible? Garrus' armor was fixed in ME2, it IS sensible given he is a heavy hitter, just saying. Whereas Miranda's, Jack's and Samara's were pretty much ridiculous in every possible way. You CAN achieve cool and at least sensible-looking, just because they chose not to (if indeed that is the case) does not mean it was a good idea .....and just because you choose to let it slide/justify it/ not to care that does not mean everyone else thinks it's a good idea or will not be reminded it is silly each time they add Aveline to their party.

Oh cut it out Shorts, if that was an issue then we should not be able to change any equipment during combat or "drop disguises" in the blink of an eye like it happened in origins. The real point here is that we yet do NOT know if she will be wearing sensible armor at all during later chapters. And no...no dev said she will they only implied she will change appearanceand not that she will wear appropriate armor.

To be honest, considering how rarely the devs comment on such matters and that Luke was replying in regards to exactly the 'inappropriate armor' issue I really think it's a stretch not to think she'll wear heavier armor later on. remember ME2? Remember how we kept asking "is the appearance fixed? can we take the stupid catsuit off Miranda and put her in some armor?".....remember how they hinted appearances CAN change  but never addressed directly?...sounds familiar?

So would Aveline be able to damage Varric's chest hair with her unlimited strength? This must be DA's unstoppable force and immovable object paradox.

Here's another. If Aveline and Varric hooked up, would we hear the pitter-patter of tiny god-children feet?

The Aveline badass jokes are coming, and they will be glorious.

-Avleine shaves her legs with a broadsword

-She can eat 20 lbs of meat in a single sitting

-When Aveline's joints ache, it rains

When Aveline works out, she doesn't push up. She pushes Thedas down.

(someone else thought of this one, originally, I can't remember who.)
