I was talking about the armor not the person.

I can't claim to be a fan of the headgear, but otherwise that bulky, dinged-up armour looks pretty cool.

Just silly speculation at this point though.

te VERY best armor in DAO never made it to the final build....at least not in its trailer incarnation..and that is the armor that the warden wears in the Sacred Ashes trailer

anyways

I'd LOVE to see aveline in full templar armor with that giant templar shield.....that SO screams "tank" to me

I just imagine her armor will have some sort of skirt, like the Templar armor.

Nope, it's still there. You can see it around 0:44-0:47 mark, on both male and female templar.

yeah tho some of the other templars did not have it.....unless of course they were not templars but some other kinda guard....their armor was reminiscent of the sentinels from from WH only pure white

Now, what Aveline is is handsome. She is definitely that. She looks good because she looks tough and powerful, not because she looks ornamental (which she most certainly does not).

True that.

I would think being called handsome while being a woman would be a little, uh, insulting?

It would depend on the woman. Just like there are men who'd freak out about being called beautiful while others would like the compliment.

I'm glad my language has no distinction between the 2 words

It implies strong but well balanced proprtional features. 'Handsome' can be beautiful, just not soft or barbie-ish.

Do any of the other female NPC's look different? I'm failing to see the connection/difference.

For comparison there's picture of Isabela and some random female NPC

similar pose for Aveline:

I approve of the build on random female. She looks very normal. I hope that we have this kind of different body types for our PCs.

yes but you are trying to create a disctinction that in our mind does not exist...or that, better yet, is irrelevant as beautiful -for us- is beautiful regardless of the fact that it is meant in a classical sense or in a more personal fashion

Well yeah it may not denote anything gender specific, but the way we use it tends to be, so if someone calls a person a "handsome woman," that could be taken as an implication that the person looks mannish, which could be taken as offensive. Whether it was really implied, whether it's taken as being implied, and whether it causes offense I suppose varies from person to person.

Whose mind? The distinction may not exist in one's mind, but it exists in the english language. What you're saying isn't wrong and is an admirable point of view, but that doesn't mean that the two words are identical. Not in english. Edit: oh wait, you mean in the mind of people who speak your language.

Ya know.. When I first saw Aveline I thought I was screwed when it came to female LI's but the more I look, and read about her the more I realize she's pretty much the exact type of woman I would have wanted to romance in Origins.
And yes the best way to describe her looks is definetly as a "handsome" woman and I'm okay with that.
