I love strong women <.< ; So I'm glad they arent going all "traditional beauty" on her.

I'd still be peeved though if she was made to just wear that outfit <.< Though what Gaider said last page seemed to hint at possible diffrent armor. Which is good

I'd say that what Gaider says confirms that she'll get actual armour instead of the emergency leather apron.

Now we just need confirmation on whether we can woo her. Or vice-versa.

Do any of the other female NPC's look different? I'm failing to see the connection/difference.

For comparison there's picture of Isabela and some random female NPC

I approve of the build on random female. She looks very normal. I hope that we have this kind of different body types for our PCs.

Other than skin tone I still fail to see the difference...................................

Like I said, it's an apparent mind affliction.

EDIT: Allison; I'm thinking Sten but with a feminine touch...................................no?

Personally i don't see much of difference in their body build either, and what's there can be easily chalked up to different clothing. But i didn't want to set the tone from the start Posted Image

edit: but that said, it seems the DA2 is giving female characters thicker/more natural figure than what DAO had. Maybe that's to make them visually more different from the elves or for other reasons, but it's interesting since it's not very common approach, and the end effect is neat.

Well, yes, but the rest of us are talking, too. ;)

yes but you are trying to create a disctinction that in our mind does not exist...or that, better yet, is irrelevant as beautiful -for us- is beautiful regardless of the fact that it is meant in a classical sense or in a more personal fashion

Whose mind? The distinction may not exist in one's mind, but it exists in the english language. What you're saying isn't wrong and is an admirable point of view, but that doesn't mean that the two words are identical. Not in english. Edit: oh wait, you mean in the mind of people who speak your language.

bingo

Heh, 'we/us/our' is such a confusing and changeable concept.

You don't see a difference in Isabella and the woman next to her other than skin tone?

Well yeah it may not denote anything gender specific, but the way we use it tends to be, so if someone calls a person a "handsome woman," that could be taken as an implication that the person looks mannish, which could be taken as offensive.

Right. There are women who would mind being considered 'mannish,' and there are others who wouldn't. I can imagine Leliana disliking the descriptor because she considers herself feminine.

Does Aveline?

If someone said, "Aveline, your hands are large, your arms are muscular, your stride and posture is masculine, and the way you look is unbecoming of a woman," would it bother her?

I suspect she'd either 1) disagree that her attributes were inherently unfeminine or, 2) consider 'mannish' to be a perfectly fine thing to be.

And the thing is, handsome is a compliment. It suggests that the person speaking considers you attractive or even desirable.

Wow, this thread has been all over the place in the short time since the reveal. (Laughs) Of course it has. I forgot what Community Forum I was in. As to Aveline, well, so much has been said, both positive and negative, that I don't feel the need to rehash. I will simply say that I think she looks amazing, her Bio (though brief) intrigues me immensely, and I really hope she *is* in fact the second Female Love Interest for Male Hawke (since it hasn't *technically been confirmed yet...unless I missed that somewhere) My sincere thanks to Luke for creating (at least on the writing side) what looks to be my favorite companion in Dragon Age 2.

she wanted to wear my jacket the rest of the evening.  i guess calling a girl handsome would cause an awkward moment,  then again girls are so complex.

Isabela only got a wallpaper because she was in the CGI trailer, so I doubt it.

Better not just be an LI for male Hawke, or I will be the saddest panda.

It's a trap!

It's starts simply enough. Maybe you're imagining her muscular rear or how safe and warm your PC would feel with those arms around her. The roads of hope are many but they all lead to despair and disappointment.

It's like button -> awesome, only it takes longer.

I suggest you refrain from any thoughts of her coming in sweaty from sword practice, pinning your rogue PC to the wall, stripping her down, and slipping those rough, blunt fingers deep into the folds of her pockets. In the PC's pockets to get some change so Aveline can buy candy.

And your warrior PC will *not* get to wrestle in her underwear with her. Don't even think about it.
