It is, you can see the red scarf and the gray of the "battle apron."

Haven't seen that picture before, thank you Upsettingshorts.

Aveline is looking real good (even though its a bit blurry).

I will be crushed if she's not a possible F/F LI.

Just watched the Behind the Scenes Video Doc on Gamespot and even though it did not really focus on Aveline I must admit I had a bit of a Squeeling Nerd moment when I saw her with Bethany and Varric in the conversation sequence with Isabela.

Despite the fact that the Armor was a bit blur'd, it's nice to see that the whole, "Why doesn't Aveline have armor?" topic can be put to rest. Also, from what little we're able to make out, it looks fantastic, with a bit of a Templar Flair to it. No I don't think that means Aveline is going to be the Alistair of DA2.

So, with that said, I really hope part II of the behind the scene video (Gamespot had it posted as part I) will feature a bit more about the companion characters and some dialogue with Aveline since the only folks who have seen/heard that part were those lucky few who attended Gamescon and PAX. Also, it would be amazing if we were shown some confirmation that Aveline is, in fact, one of the LIs. In the Video today, once more we're shown how much Isabela want's some Hawke lov'in, however we've yet to see/be told anything else about the other potential love interests...unless I missed something somewhere.

Again, Aveline looked amazing and all of this just made me even *more* excited, which I did not think was possible as this juncture.

If she actually takes care of new recruit training, I can see her going all Detritus Style. Shout at their ears 'til they melt then shape them into sammies.

Wow, that would be *Awesome.* Could you imagine it? I mean, how often is the PC leading the Love Scene in these epic adventure stories? Almost always. So, how sweet would it be if you're doing the passion kissing thing...and Aveline totally picks Hawke up and throws *him* on the bed.

Aveline: "Say my name!"

Hawke: "What...?"

*Slap sound*

Aveline: "I said say my name!"

Hawke: "Ow, dear maker. Aveline... Aveline!!!"

:D

I get the impression Isabela is going to be the F/F.

It would be interesting if your romance would be the one taking the lead for once.
Though I'm not sure if I would like it the way you described it...

No, I'm sure you and many others would not. Truth be told, I wouldn't be all that crazy about it either. The above scenario was mostly me taking an over-exagerated approach to things. Honestly, it *would* be nice to have the Strong female character take the lead in the relationship. I've always enjoyed trying to play my Hero characters as being good hearted to the point of being, well, not exactly Uber-Love "I've slept with a dozen women" experts, and I've always loved when RPGs permit that to show.

In Origns, in the Romance with Leliana, there are some great dialogue moments where the Warden can seem to *genuinely* not understand that Leli wants to sleep with him, and I dug that. Here's this incredible Heroic character who's like, "You want to do what now?" It's charming as hell. So, in DA2, given Aveline's physical and emotional stregnth, confidence, and conviction, it would be incredibly awesome if (should she develop feelings for Hawke) she not only took the first step in a Chivalrous fashion, i.e. courting Hawke, she made it clear in a strong though emotionally poignant way that she was ready to take him as her lover as well. I don't know, I just find that kind of romantic in a new way.

Sadly, given what we know of Aveline (which to be fair is very little) I can't help but be worried that she was written to be somewhat like Samara: noble, strong, and beautiful, but with so much tragedy around her life that she just can't be in Love again. Maker, I hope I'm wrong...

Male Hawke being courted by a female follower is indeed interesting, and I also think that Aveline was the boss between her and Wesly.

Also I hope Mr.Kristjanson and some of the other dev's will give use some more info soon. I mean we already had a lot of info about Varric before he was officially anounced. And we already had some tidbits of information about Fenris before he even had a name.

Me being crushed at the fact that there may be no Aveline F/F romance. Very bad.

Me being crushed by Aveline in a F/F romance. Good. Very good. :P

Poor Aveline. After four months, your thread is shorter than Fenris' in four days.

You should get back at him...

I'm sorry Aveline.
I'm more interested in you than any other companion, It's just, I'm not into the whole wild speculating with barely information thing.
Maybe you simply attract a different type of fan?

You mean she attracts mature, intelligent people not prone to baseless gushing and squealing? ^^
It'd be nice to see more of her. Even in the recent gameplay video her screentime is very reduced compared to Varric or the Hawkes.

Pseudocognition's art always deliver.
We need more armored Aveline, though.

Maybe we can ask Pseudo or Aimo nicely and we get some armored Aveline art.

But now for a serious question. Even though Aveline never became a knight (at least I think she wasn't knighted), do you think she still follows a code of honor? She seems the type.

"Aveline Vallen is a soldier, a master of sword and shield, and a tireless guardian... to a point. The daughter of an exiled chevalier, Aveline is not the knight her father wished her to be. Although fully trained in chivalrous combat, she was raised in the shadow of a lost life and will not lose another for the sake of honor. Protecting her adopted home of Kirkwall becomes a chosen duty, not a privileged calling. The people she stands for will not be wasted on lost causes or protecting the foolish from themselves. Pride can be bandaged like any other wound—when threats are dead and everyone is safely home."

i think she gives more importance to saving lives than honor, going so far as to discard it so she can save as many as she can.

i'm getting a mr.garibaldi/ivanova mix vibe from her.

I like her. Seems like the sort of person you'd want fighting on your side.
