I have barely been following DA2 at all because of several changes that I absolutely loathe and several revelations I care nothing about. But I have to say, this kickass lady is right up my alley and definitely looks great. Bioware: please don't listen to the naysayers who want to "barbiefy" her, she's perfect for her role as she is! Fans of girly or dolly characters can get their fix elsewhere, but tough warrior-women are far, far too rare.

So, Aveline is looking better. I like the freckles. Have to admit I'll mod the hair if/when that becomes an option, but seeing as how she's the only female in the party who looks and dresses fairly normally, she's shooting up the roster.

I quite like her. I'm not sure I'm going to do any romance (I didn't in DA:O), but if any potential character will interest me, it's Aveline...at least as long as she's given time to grieve.

That I believe will be the main story arc surrounding their romance (if there is any). Like Mister Gaider said during the interview "relationships develop over time", time in which I believe Hawke will help her get past Wesley and the two of them become close.

But that's my own speculation

As someone who begins the game married to a Templar and then joins the Kirkwall guards, it seems Aveline will be the traditional, pro-Chantry type. I expect she'll befriend Carver (even get him to join one of those groups) and always be antagonistic with Bethany.

Other than Carver, I don't see anyone I think she's be friends with. Isabela? A criminal and hedonist. She called Varric lazy in one of Mary's banters. She seems to be disagreeing with Fenris in the video. That leaves "Anders" and Merrill.

I wonder if Aveline finds the small elven girl cute?

I really can't understand when people pick out a single feature they don't like and then deem the person to be unattractive. I'm not saying this to be cute, I just really can't understand it. It makes no sense to me.

I love everything we have seen of Aveline so far. I love her design, I love that we have a female tank, I love her back story. It sounds like they have the makings of a really great, different character with her.

I suspect she's actually quite 'soft.' As in, she obviously cares about people and wants them to be happy. She expresses this caring through joining the guards and protecting people, which is your classic D&D lawful good stance: A safe, well-ordered society leads to happy, healthy people.

What she lacks is idealism and she's probably a bit reserved.
