I don't see her as a hardass, more of a tough love type of person. As in, she won't criticize a character because they're weak, but because she knows they're capable of better.

As a freckled woman I have great affection for Aveline's freckles. She also seems bad-ass, which is always good! Unless my opinion changes during the game, she's got a place in my party for now.

I just can't get excited about this character yet. I need to hear her story and see the character mature in the game. I never get a strong feeling about any character till I see it in context. She does look kind of funky right now but personality goes a LOOOONG way with me.

I know what you mean...when I first saw Jack in the ME2 trailers I was like "OOOH EEEM GEEE I am SOO doing this chick." .....then she opened her mouth.......lol

Excellent. As I'll be playing Warrior Hawke and love melee combat, this is definitely a party I could run...

I hope I'm not too late to join the fun in this thread.
My initial interest in Aveline was the whole female warrior bit, but I felt strangely drawn to her in the recent dev diary. I especially liked the dialogue from Aveline:
Hawke: Been a while, hasn't it?
Aveline: I've been keeping an eye on you.

My wierd fascination of shut downs aside, I'm looking forward to seeing more of Aveline come March.

Playing a mage could be interesting. She may have conflicting oppinions regarding Hawke if he's a magic user.
For me, I like swords; and the robes, while great in design, aren't to my liking.

I know what you mean, plus whoever her voice actress is sounds spectacular. I actually replayed that bit a few times just to listen to her voice.

Aveline seems pretty cool from what I've seen. I get a kind of Sarah Connor/Ashley Williams vibe from her that I dig. I hope there are many interactions to be had with her.

I suspect she's actually quite 'soft.' As in, she obviously cares about people and wants them to be happy. She expresses this caring through joining the guards and protecting people, which is your classic D&D lawful good stance: A safe, well-ordered society leads to happy, healthy people.

What she lacks is idealism and she's probably a bit reserved.

I didn`t mean that Aveline was a bad character or a bad person , i mean her views an Aposate mages . I see our views as polar opposites and i hoped i could change her view if she saw apostates doing good things in Kirkwall .

@ request denied, I agree, this will probably be a big part of rivalry relationship with Aveline, especially if you're a mage.
