Edit: Stupid page topper! I'm referring to obnoxiousgas's fine choice of avatar image in the previous page.

My DA2 dream team is Hawke, Varric, Bethany, and Isabella. Unless you can get a qunari companion, if you can hes on my team for sure

You know... While I love Aveline's armor - full plate armor with the adequate straps and joint and everything-, I am now kind of curious as if she'll dress again in her civilian clothes when off duty.Maria Caliban wrote...

She joins the city guards in Kirkwall, which is why she's shown in their armor.

She doesn't need to. But usually, having the companion as a potential Love Interest allows the player to learn more about the character, as it offers the companion a higher amount of interaction with the main PC. I'm afraid we won't get to explore Aveline's character as well as others, which is a pity given that she has the most appealing character from what we know so far.slimgrin wrote...
Aveline doesn't need to be an li. I respect Bioware's discretion on this matter.

I am working on Aveline fanart. After 'Merrillcat,' I am filled with dread.

Probably more than 3 romance options per gender like Origins was. I honestly want an elf romance. A female one, not some overly sexual assassin with a leather fetish. I hated that the only non human LI was Zevran, who I only liked for his banter. I know Isabela is a LI, but I want a non human one.Xewaka wrote...
Honestly, chances are not looking good for Aveline as regular Love Interest either. Which is a shame.GodWood wrote...
Isabela will be the F/F romance.
The chances of DA2 having two lesbian romances are slim to none.
I swear I'll never understand the people's obsession with elves. Despite I know Bioware won't do it, I'd love to have a female elf thrown at the public and have her NOT be a love interest. Just to make a point.
Why is it the two characters I find the most intriguing are the ones with the lowest chance to develop a deeper relationship? Sigh.
Although I'm noticing that having Varric and Aveline around in the party is basically pigeonholing my Hawke into being a mage. Drat.
Oh well, Aveline's still coming.

Just a bit of trivia in regards to the bolded - the concept of evil elves isn't that rare. The dark elves in Warhammer are 'harsh, warlike and vicious', the drow elves are described as 'generally evil', the Svartálfar of Norse mythology are regarded as troublemakers and greedy, and the huldufólk of Iceland are in the habit of turning against humans that don't fall prey to their seduction.
RE: Aveline being a romance, I waver between thinking there's a fairly decent chance at it, and that there's little chance, especially as an S/S option.Bioware does seem to be busting a few tropes with regards to typical dwarven/elven fighting styles and being separated from your family early in the game and such, so maybe they'll bust one in the romance department, too.

I like her, but now I'm starting to wonder what Wesley saw in her. Or what she saw in him.
I think Aveline's really pretty. Also, it's hard not to be impressed by a woman who can bench-press a cow.
