Stop jinxing the Aveline LI!!! If she is not one, I shal be very angry. I like the fact that she is buff. She looks Norse. I like it, and they had better make her a love interest! I already have a feeling that Isabella is going to weird me out like Zevran by coming on waaaay too strong.

I can't believe people are still shouting 'ugly' after the dev diary. If anything, it showed how absolutely gorgeous she is and always has been. (Though I do realize beauty is subjective, etc. etc).

Speaking of her scene in the dev diary (yeah, I know I'm the only one who was), it's implied that she leaves Kirkwall for a while, then comes back. It is horribly incorrect to theorize that she may have joined the Wardens? She does have the symbol on her heavy armour, IIRC.

That symbol could also very easily been the Kirkwall crest. Kind of looks like a bird with outstretched wings then a gryffon.

Even if Aveline isn't a LI, I'd like her to be a friend. I really liked Leliana, but I liked her better as a friend than a lover. I just have this feeling that Aveline would make a amazing friend. I just hope she doesn't look down Hawke just because she's older than him/her.

You know... While I love Aveline's armor - full plate armor with the adequate straps and joint and everything-, I am now kind of curious as if she'll dress again in her civilian clothes when off duty.

She doesn't need to. But usually, having the companion as a potential Love Interest allows the player to learn more about the character, as it offers the companion a higher amount of interaction with the main PC. I'm afraid we won't get to explore Aveline's character as well as others, which is a pity given that she has the most appealing character from what we know so far.

indeed she does not NEED to be...I just really really want her to be. A game finally provides a companion thats basicly a dream come true for me and the odds of her being overshadowed by both of the steryotypes, the cheerleader with little modesty and the freakin elf are all too high. I don't understand why people are so attracted to elves, I personaly never found them interesting in the slightest. There just humans with pointy ears and apparently welsh accents. I never found anything special about them...in fact it's safe to say I am very slowly growing a hatred of elves...I even made them the bad guys in the novel I am writeing...imagine that, humans being the good guys while the elves are evil...unpresidented! lol

 If not open to the horizontal hokey cokey she'll take Stens place as my Hawkes strong right hand and advisor.

Still think she's the finest looking female of the three, twiglet and cheerleader don't do it for me.

Lastly I am not ashamed to declare to the world I have always had a Valkarie fetish!....wait...shes older then Hawke......how much older exaclty???

Just a bit of trivia in regards to the bolded - the concept of evil elves isn't that rare. The dark elves in Warhammer are 'harsh, warlike and vicious', the drow elves are described as 'generally evil', the Svartálfar of Norse mythology are regarded as troublemakers and greedy, and the huldufólk of Iceland are in the habit of turning against humans that don't fall prey to their seduction.

RE: Aveline being a romance, I waver between thinking there's a fairly decent chance at it, and that there's little chance, especially as an S/S option. Bioware does seem to be busting a few tropes with regards to typical dwarven/elven fighting styles and being separated from your family early in the game and such, so maybe they'll bust one in the romance department, too.

I swear I'll never understand the people's obsession with elves. Despite I know Bioware won't do it, I'd love to have a female elf thrown at the public and have her NOT be a love interest. Just to make a point.

Yes I know lol....they are just "ultimate good" way too often for my tastes.

Still...with Miranda 2.0 and an elf....I have to agree the odds do not seem all that good...I mean consider...look how small this thread is compared to theirs. For god sake I even think Cassandra is ahead of poor Aveline!
