I heavily doubt she is a romance. And if she's a romance, I doubt she's for f/f.
But I like her anyway.

I'd like her all the same, myself.
Still, it would be beyond fantastic if she was. Completely against the grain in so many respects. Would be so refreshing. One can hope.

SHE WILL BE!!! DEATH TO THE NAY SAYERS!! lol I keed I keed.
I want her to be a LI myself. Even if, or maybe even especially if, it didn't happen until year 10 or when the game was over! If she was m/f LI it would be the first time I would dedicate myself to being a male character.
That is very, very rare for me.
Lots of people don't consider her "feminine" so think she isn't a LI. I, frankly, don't see too much difference between her body and Isabella's from the screenshots I have seen where they both are in cloth instead of Aveline in plate... One is just fair skinned and one is dark to my eye, though I haven't spent time specifically looking either.
*shrugs*
I like her. I sincerely HOPE they give a strong female LI as Aveline appears to be. I am sure Isabella and Merrill and who knows who else are strong too in their own ways, but a kick-arse warrior who was already married? That bucks tradition AND stereotype. I hope it happens. Personally.

Exactly...thats why she SHOULD be a LI...I find the steryotypes boreing...if she isn't a LI I actually probably won't have a LI in DA2 because I don't like Isabella and Merril.shantisands wrote...

Agree 100%. What it boils down to, basically, is that she is different. The story surrounding her character is very well done, even considering the fact that we don't even know the half of it.
Several pages in this thread focused on just the one choice at the very beginning of the game.

She does actually have a different body model. Sebastian confirmed it, iirc, during that video Q&A they had. I remember as it was my question he was answering, although it's not a huge difference; she's definitely not as ample-bosomed nor is she as hippy, I think, and her arms are more defined, and she just looks all around stronger to me, not that Isa's particularly weak-looking, just... rogueier.
I totally agree with you, though. I do actually have high hopes for her as a romance option, but I know she's going to be m/f rather than bi, if she is one. More than a little disappointing on my end, but I don't mind playing a male Hawke. I just had my sights set on a f/f relationship with Aveline. Ah, well. I can write it if the mood strikes me.

I totally agree that she should be a strong female character. I mean a female warrior?! That almost NEVER happens and I'm really excited for it. If it turns out that she isn't a LI sure I am going to be upset but so far she is looking to be one of the more interesting characters in the game for me.shantisands wrote...

On the anniversary of the Champion of Kirkwall's repulsion of the qunari invaders, the city unveiled heroic statues of the Champion and the Champion's companions. After the unveiling, Aveline was overheard to have said this:
Aveline: "That's not a proper defensive stance."
Hawke: *whispers something*
Aveline: "Symbolic of what? Look at the way I'm holding that sword, it leaves me wide open. And a shield should be positioned to cover the body. Am I defending a blow or giving the Arishock a hug?"
PS: Shut up the_one.

Thats a contradiction in your logic... If she' not going to be a romance, what would be the dramatic effect/purpose of her dying...?
Besides that, MOST characters that arent killed by the player manage to survive... (even Wynne did, Jesus); and now suddenly everybody¡s dropping dead? I agree that it can happen (we got 10 years...) but still... not buying it at all. <_<
Edit: thats a lovely pic, Maria.

Why do you say that? Jade Empire's Sky was in a straight marriage before meeting the PC, but he was bi.

Ah, I didn't really look to compare so I believe you. I *do* know that they are both fairy busty, and Isabella has a seriously strong middle and some thicker legs than I remember in Origins ( which I think looks great actually) I was always in dancing or sports so I like strong legs
Even just Aveline's LOOK (on her face) makes me think she is stronger than Isabella
It could be already stated on the pages before this ( I missed a few probably lol) but do we know who her voice actor will be? I'm curious.

I don't see why it has to be either/or.
Jessica is hawt, but that doesn't detract from the fact that Aveline sounds very interesting. A warrior woman is interesting by default because she is the female who most strongly symbolizes not needing a man to protect or defend her. I am sure Merrill and Isabella are no slouches in the self-defense department, but a warrior kicks more butt.
Add to that the fact that her husband died, and you have this amazing situation where all her strength and power couldn't save the one she loved. That would mess with anyone's head-male or female and is something ANYONE regardless of gender could relate to. If someone is going to dismiss Aveline purely because she is athletic and tough, they either have issues or maybe at least need to consider that even if she is not the type they might fancy as a "LI", she can still be the best gal pal and wing woman they could have.
