I'm still interested on the other hand as to why she has the Warden Comander symbol on her armor... I can't really cope with the idea of her beeing a Grey Warden tbh. Considering that they die early from the taint and all.

I can offer a little more clarity here. It's a very neat system, and really plays to our theme of family, I think. Hope you enjoy.
- Your family's facial structure is based on the preset head you pick so that they look related, unless you wildly deviate from the basic structure of the preset's face, in which case, hey...go ahead! It's your game, after all.
- Your family's skin tone is then evaluated and changed to something close to the skin tone you pick as a second pass. This is evaluated seperately from the facial structure.
- Your family will always have black hair.
Oh.

I just noticed Marian's eyes went from blue to green. Would be awesome to have a redhead green-eyed Hawke, then Beth would be the same. Add Aveline, and we'll almost have a ginger power party.

I'm just glad that on that same thread that they said they were working on a hide helment feature so that we can actually enjoy our companions faces. It is still not confirmed, but its a reason to hope.
Aye. It's still being tested. If the tests prove good (I pray to God), than our kind BioWare people will implement it

The back cover of the Collectors' edition of the Dragon Age: Origins official guide has that symbol on it, with the crown. I doubt it is tied to Kirkwall.
Edit: Forgot to add the guide part.

Does no one consider the possibility it might be Kirkwall guard armor your mother brought with her years ago when she was cast out of the family? I mean really, there are a great many possibilitys other then Grey Warden armor.

The new Gamereactor preview (thread of it on the boards here) states that you "can also buy armor upgrades for them that will still fit their personalities." so there could be some chance that you buy it(?) or even loot it off some dead warden someplace.

For all we know it might simply be a random symbol or symbolize something else ofc. Though thus far I'd say it's been quite tied to Grey Wardens. There are however all kinds of possibilities for how Aveline gets her hands on that armor. Could even be a family heirloom from some Grey Warden ancestor that you help her retrieve.

It would actually make sense for Aveline. Her husband dies of taint, and so she decides she will join the order that will give her the power to fight that which took Wesley from her. This will be so heart-wrenching if it's true.

The helmet toggle possibility is great though. *thumbs up*
The armour crest thingie: It *does* look like an ornate version of the two headed griffon..... It is possible of course that it was shared/popular symbolism I suppose.
Hmmm, maybe someone in the know will poke by and clarify that emblem for us. Unless of course it reveals something we shouldn't know yet, in which case, we are out of luck for now.

Do btw note that I am not saying Aveline's going to be a Grey Warden, but pointing out the times the symbol appears exclusively in connection to Grey Wardens. There is, ofc, no knowing until the game comes out, but wild speculation and guesstimates is fun, no

Things do look different, but symbols remain the same. They wouldn't destroy their own lore just to make the game look "better".kylecouch wrote...

Actually I *think* that *is* the warden commander emblem, except it has a crown above the griffon heads as an addition. No idea what, if anything, that means though. If it is the Warden Commander emblem. *ponders*
