Actually I *think* that *is* the warden commander emblem, except it has a crown above the griffon heads as an addition. No idea what, if anything, that means though. If it is the Warden Commander emblem. *ponders*

What are the main differences, other than the style (obviously that is different) and the crown? Maybe my brain got more tired than my body at the gym, but to me, aside from style and crown they look pretty similar?
Will ponder that again after some sleep tonight lol. It could very well be anything: shared symbolism, special armor gifted for heroic deeds, orlesian (for example only) warden symbol... could be anything....

1)The form of the armour. Hawke's looks like heavy armour and WC is massive.
2) Crown
3) Tail of the bird. WCA doesn't have a tail right below it, Hawke/Aveline's does.
4) The animal itself, WC looks more like an eagle (gryphon) and Hawke's has a longer neck that makes it look like a peacock
5) There's something filling the space between both necks of the crest in Hawke's armour while in WC's the space isn't filled
--More subtle ones:
1) Wings are different
2) Creature's feet are different.
3) Hawke's has leather on it. WC's is pure metal.

Those are more stylistic differences imo. And while those two may look slightly different, the Orlesian Grey Warden Origin icon for the character creator in Awakening has the same symbol in a format that is much like the one on Hawke in that pic.
Something completely different:
I wonder how much Aveline's convos will be filled with stuff about Wesley and her father. Her bio on the website gives me the impression that her father had expectations of her that she did not fulfill.

We might find some chevalier armor for her. That might make a little more sense (imho), then her becoming a warden. I'm not opposed to the idea, I just don't see her going that route.

Her bio states: "The daughter of an exiled chevalier, Aveline is not the knight her father wished her to be."
The choice of name might be a rather obvious nudge from her parents. I wonder how much pressure she was under, exactly.

Not to ignore the current conversation, but just wanted to quickly express my love for Aveline after a lurking session, before I leave. She looks to be one of my favourite characters. The fact I'm a fan of strong, independent woman (redheads in particular) is a plus! Here's to hoping she's a fully-featured LI! If BioWare pull a Samara... I won't be happy!
