I admit I was out of line abit with the Merrill thing. I never understood why everyone seems to have an elf fetish so I guess thats where my comments came from. I still respect everyone elses tastes so don't take me for being an ingrate or anything.

I was thinking the same thing recently. If it is indeed just 6 companions (not counting sibling and Sebastian) it's entirely plausible all of them are LIs but the romance is maybe harder to start than in DAO? Or maybe requires specific steps from you (picking the romance dialogue options, doing all the specific companion quests, etc) so no one will fall into the 'accidental' romance (although I still doubt how that could happen, apart from Leliana, since hers was clearly bugged).

I think it would be a much better approach - less companions but more content. It's a good theory right? We still have 1,5 months till our hopes are crushed...

I enjoyed the romances in DA:O but still to this day my two favorite characters were not even romanceable I *hope* we get some good ones this time also but if Aveline for whatever reason is NOT a LI, I am sure she will still be awesome.

I think they are avoiding this thread a lot because they don't wanna spoil anything. We will just have to settle for their silence     I also imagine they are very busy, seeing as how launch is almost here.

An interesting question... I'm going to go with the 'bad guy' decisions. Something like leaving inocents to die because the bad guy is getting away. Such a scenario would prove interesting.

It does sound as though, *if* you can go by that paragraph only (and that is a disclaimer so it doesn't seem like I actually *believe* it to be true, I am just theorizing different ideas), that she must feel she has been slighted, or lost something great to her due to her previous unwavering commitment to honour.  Perhaps she will have a conflict between her unwavering loyalty and the blame she assigns to doing anything for honor?  

Maybe it is a slightly misleading paragraph though, who knows.  It sounds good though, regardless.  

And yeah, for what its worth, bare-handed killing shows there is a lot of rage/pain behind it, I think.  These are kind of the reasons I really like her.  She seems like a good person, who has something to endure, something to figure out.  

Aren't those the best kinds though?  The perfect hero type, who has everything, can save the day *and* look great doing it, yes is flashy and cool, but in terms of character, usually fall flat.  

Oh, and though it doesn't *mean* anything - sisterly vibe and not *overtly* sexual... doesn't necessarily mean she isn't a LI.   Could just mean she is down to earth, and doesn't shove her sexuality in your face.  You know, like most people who aren't actively trolling for some lovin'   IF she was a LI, it would be the very first time I saw, in a game, a character who was not solely a stereotypical love-interest.  Which, frankly, would be VERY COOL.   <3

Indeed. The first time I met Thane in ME2 I would never had guessed that he actually abandoned his family, but there it was. I'm sure BioWare has some very nice surprises in store for us regarding Aveline.
