A Battle Most Dire
                             by Cosmin



The scene before her eyes was terrible,
As the weight of her shield became unbearable.
Slaughter and mayhem everywhere she turned
And the fires of war which even now, they burned.


Years had passed since she abandoned her home
And even now, amidst the chaos, she was fighting alone.
People were running from giants, enveloped in plate,
And she was taunting all of them, standing as bait.


Swords clashed, blood was shed,
A wall was raised with bodies of the dead.
She felt exhaustion and pain from her wounds,
However, she would not fall from these goons.


The Guardian raised her shield one final time
Ready to punish these monsters for their crime.
An entire army stood before her,
And yet, they did not attack however.


A new threat had risen from the rear
But what it was, her eyes did not see clear.
She could not believe it, but the enemy was falling back,
Being beaten by a man weilding a sword-staff.


She recognized him and went to his side
And with both their efforts, the enemy died.
The day was won and they stood together,
Holding each other's hands, they hoped it was forever.


A strong palm hit the storyteller's face
With such a force, he thought it was a mace.
And as he was recovering from the hit,
The woman beside him spoke: "That's Bulls**t!"

Unfortunately I do not know Aveline well enough to write a fanfic for her but I do write fanfics in general as well as original novels. Are any of you gents and ladies interested in the Batman comics? I am currently working on a fanfic for that that involves Nightwing and Oracle.



I will probably work on a DA2 fanfic in the future after I play the game and know the characters better.

I am indeed a Batman fan. Although I haven't read many comics (partially because they were and still are unavailable in my country). So I had to stick with cartoons, movies and reviews of the general plot and characters on the internet. Thank the Maker for Wikipedia.

As for fanfics, the only one I ever made was for my character in the upcoming SW The Old Republic. Other than that I stick just with poems (have tons of them ). After the game is released, I am looking forward as to what creative things the comunity will realise.

OMG!! This is pure genius!!!
I hope devs see this and put it in the game as a codex or banter (either Varric's banter or gossip form NPCs you know):happy:

One thing I always wanted was if Aveline is a LI (i hope:P) the achievement for pursuing the story arc would be named "The Guardian & Her Champion". That's how I first came up with the notion, by focusing on the achievement

If you host it on another site and offer but a simple link on the forums, I think it shoudn't be a problem. Just remember to offer a small 'age rating'  before people click on it

Was just wonderin cuz I did a lot of sexy RP on Warcraft (I admit it...and am not ashamed) and that sick mind of mine that was born from it gave me another story idea.

My personal recomandation is FanFiction.net 
As I said, if people offer but a simple link, everything is ok. I also read a few things on the DA:O community creation forum, and some of them are mature and brilliant at the same time.

Hehe, yes that would be the drawback. In the meantime, write your work on another program within your PC, use spellcheck and have it ready by then  There may be some other host sites, but I do not know.

That I can do...because I've been useing my Word 2003 to write my novel. But is there a somewhere where it states how grahpic it can be? because really...it's not gonna that THAT graphic...at least my my standards.

I still use 2007. It's not very different then the new one, and I am waaay to lazy to upgrade. And my Professors don't object when I reveal my projects to them.
No idea exactly how... graphic it can be, but like I mentioned, it's better to be on the safe side. The picture we all know and love (you know of which I'm talking about  ) isn't all that 'colorfull' in my oppinion (i've seen way more mature things than that), but puting it with a link was was a smart thing to do nonetheless.

But seriously...On Topic...-ajusts himself in his fluffy leather chair- Do you think if you side with the Mages Aveline will pull a Wyne at the Urn of Sacred Ashes? If so...sorry Mages...your **** outta luck with me.

You know... for that reason I hated the urn of sacred ashes quest in that way that in order to get a new spec for a warrior( which you actually got 2...because it was actually apart of the arl of redcliffe questline...and you got the champion spec at the end of it) you had defile the urn( which to me was about the most evil thing you could do in the game) AND if they were in your party... you would need to kill both Wynne and Leliana( though I hear if you harden her first this may not be the case) as well as the spirit of mountain or temple. AND after you gain the spec... Kolgrim and his crew don't even help with 'siege of denerim' quest... spouting about how they don't care about the blight or darkspawn.

Ontopic: If said action does happen during the story... it kinda depends on where I stand in this... because it will hard either way... because if you aren't a mage you could also be potentially siding against your own family in Bethany in this...nevermind the other 2 mage party members...
