 Hey there :)

Unfortunately, I'm one of those guys (don't mind the avatar :P) that almost never manages to re-play a CRPG after beating it.

The reason is simple: since, to me, the plot/atmosphere/immersion is the most important factor in a roleplaying game, I basically lose interest in it when I know how it ends.

There is no other game mechanic that encourages me to undertake another playthrough; now, ok, DA:O has different origin stories, probably different endings, but the element of surprise, of discovering "what is next" is basically over once you went through it once.

Now, of course I totally enjoy the ride while it lasts, and because of the above reasons, I tend to try discovering everything during the first playthrough. And also, for the same matter, I'm a VERY slow gamer and I usually take days between some sessions just in case a patch is coming and stuff like that.

What about you? Anyone like me out there?

I feel your pain. I loved the single player content in Hellgate: London but after I defeated the game with my Templar I just said screw and never went back to my cabalist or marksman. However it was a linear story with no real feel to it. I can thankfully say much more about DA:O. I haven't made it half-way through yet but the dialogue feels like even with the same outcome I could complete the story in an entirely different manner. That is what I look for in a replayability factor. Heck the only two games I've ever beaten twice has been Dungeon Siege 2 and Warcraft 3. In otherwords.

I don't know how much you have completed, so I won't delve into the details, but this game has amazing potential for replay.

Yes, the major plot points will not change, but the way those points come about, and what the outcome of those points are can change quite drastically based on choices you make.

Try playing through a second time, after you have finished the game. Play a new origin(which usually all tie into the main plot somehow, which is great to learn the back-story), and then try to make choices that are different from the ones you made the first time.

This game has choices that are brutal to decide, because so much hangs in the balance, and there really is no "right" answer. They all have a certain merit, so it becomes difficult. Even more so because of how drastically they can change things.

Have faith, give it a try.. But certainly try to get everything out of the first play that you can. I doubt you would, judging by your post, but don't hold back and say "oh, I'll try that next time". This game has an amazing amount of content just for one play-through, that even if you decide the second isn't for you, it's well worth it.

Now.. I know that didn't answer the actual question whatsoever, so allow me to start again..

I'm currently starting my second play-through right now, because I simply cannot get enough of this game. I played my first character through around 80 hours, loving every minute, but still with the lingering urge to try another. Now that I've completed that character's story, I'm excited that this one can start. It's truly like a new experience, at least for me.

I almost never replay games, but I did play Mass Effect thrice and Knights of the Old Republic twice. I don't know if I'll do another play through for DA:O yet. It looks very replayable, but the game is very long. I don't know when I'll finish my first.

I usually play a good RPG more than once just to see the differences between playing as a "good" or "evil" guy. However with Dragon Age I think I may have to do a lot more than that simply because now I'll want to play a "good" human noble, a "bad" human noble, a "good" mage and a depraved blood mage... and then there are the Dwarves and Elves... though I think I will go for a Dalish Elf duel wield specced rogue. I may wait a week though just so that the ending from my first playthrough isn't as fresh in my mind.

I enjoy replaying games, but Dragon Age is more than I can chew I think. I'd like to have a taste of all the different origins, but this is a 60+ hour game and I can't put in gaming hours like that the way I once did. I think I'll content myself with two play throughs at best. Maybe. Depends whether I can steel myself to grind through the Deep Roads again...

I'm barely into my first playthrough with maybe 12 hourse or so? But I'll definitely do multiple playthroughs. I really would like to see how different origins play out through the game and see how different I can make things between each playthrough. So far I've made one major decision I guess and apparently there are three completely different ways of dealing with the dilemma (In Redcliffe), so that right there makes three different situations. I may not invest so much time into sidequests in subsequent playthroughs though.
