(get it? :P)

I'm sorry, but assuming that all women like Twilight, that all women who would like to hear a voice clip of female Hawke want their games to be more sparklepire is just plain sexist.

Not one. Single. Person. Has requested as much.

Hear hear.  BTW, anything Twilight makes me gag.  It is really stupid.  I'll take a blood sucking Dracula from old horror movies over this young kids ... crud.

Again MOUNTAINS OUT OF MOLE HILLS

First of all, you're one to talk about mountains out of molehills, since I don't see anyone "outraged" that femHawke has yet to be seen.

Second of all, you are missing the point. We want to see more female Hawke in material. BioWare has done it before--even if it didn't, why does that mean nothing can change?

Again, it's hard for me not to take a comments like yours sexist, because you didn't bother reading what anyone posted here--all we want is to see a little of female Hawke. Not equal marketing, not box art representation; something more than what FemShep gets, which is nothing. If you can't understand that, well, that's your privelege.

Also. There was and is plenty of "outrage" about the lack of femShep, so I don't get what you're trying to say with that.

... pointless rant

Is it hard to ask, in this century, to have a trailer (or if not CGI just some gameplay) of the fem!Hawke?  I mean really?  Is it that offensive you get your underwear in a knot and go spewing off sentences of garbage?  And I love how you talk down to 'you ladies' .. how quaint.  If you even read the OP you would know the suggestion and idea that was put forward.

What Saibh said. It's ridiculous that some people say they'd like to see some images or video of female Hawke and that is interpreted as being rabid and irrational and wanting a hostile female takeover of the planet or something. No one is saying to not show male Hawke. We'd just like to see female Hawke too, not instead of.

hmm if I were to put on my empathetic-hat, I would wish for more games where a female protagonist was possible instead of wishing that an existing female protagonist was advertised more prominently.

*shrug*

I honestly care less about that. If there were a sudden drop in female protagonists, then it would bother me, but it's not the fact that they don't exist, it's when they do exist, and are treated as a dirty little secret. If there is only one protagonist, chances are they are a decided character like Nathan Drake or Kratos or somebody, and I accept that. Adding a female option would be a ridiculous thing to ask. Generally RPGs do allow the choice for both sexes.

Also, these are the BioWare boards of DA2, where we can play as a female.

I dont care about if the main character is man, woman, hetero, ******, young, child, old, black, white or anything else.

I only want to play the game.

But I like the idea to have another types of main characters and not only the adult male guy

I don't see females as a dirty little secret, and I see why Bioware would have a recognizable and consistent figure as a protagonist, also I see any group could say they'd like to see a Hawke that fits them or their vision.

This is my proposition: a YOUR CHOICE ad campaig, one that showcases player freedom in the game, something like, "Hawke is your hero" and then flashes of possible Hawkes including multiple female ones, "Make Thedas your world" and flashes of conflicts you resolve, NPC's you may meet and interact with. "Choose your role." and then a lot of Marilyn Manson music.

Yeah I see your point and the whole idea makes more sense now.  Having said that, I would always advertise the male option if I had to choose one.  You have to sell to your main demographic, after all.

It wouldn't hurt to promote femhawke a bit as well though -  they might even find that demographic isn't as insignificant as they seem to think...

Never played the games, actually.

But he is a decided character.

And, oh, my dear, if we're ranking secret love affairs in terms of how often they get mentioned, you really do love that peasant nobody Hawke, don't you?

I'd like to point out that this desire to see a marketed female lead is NOT MEANT TO OVERSHADOW the male lead. I think the request is reasonable. I have yet to read about anyone demanding that the game be redeveloped to focus on the feminine. For my own curiosisity I want to see what the default FemHawke would look like seeing as how awesome the MHawke is I feel its a fair request. Its also not impossible to work dual genders into a trailer, (Does sort of depend on the context. maybe for DA3?)

I personally feel that women are as involved in gaming as men, and its becoming more equal. Though I'd like to claim a proud family tradition of female gamers. (My grandma owned an SNES and PWND at it too.) I mean a 40/60 split is a large chunk albeit the minority.

I also want to point out that there has to be some benifit to apealing to female gamers seeing as Harvest moon has repeatedly rereleased some of their editions in a female version.

I'm not saying that we should all quit shaving our legs and burn out bras, but It'd be nice to have one more screenshot to drool over and heighten the anticipation of the game.

Just some more things to ponder.

It certainly wouldn't hurt, and you might be right.  I'm sure that they did a cost/benefit analysis of this at some point and decided it wasn't worth it.  Although people are often wrong, so who knows. :)

ARGH FEMINISM everyone hide.

I would personally not like a game as much if the main character was canonically a female, since I would not be able to immerse myself in the story as much. I dunno, I'm just inflexible, I guess.

Everyone's different.  I like playing a female protagonist, but I never put myself in the main character's shoes.  I always feel like I'm making someone else's story.

If Hawk is a second name, I'm gonna so live out my life long dream I've just had now and dub her Lady Hawk. By day an super awesome warrior with a voice actor to match (please), by night half a Canadian indie rock band, half 1985 Michelle Pfeiffer film.

Whats not to love?

And we'll know what male Hawke will sound like long before then, now won't we? In fact, there's a lot of disappointment that we don't know yet going around. It especially sucks for girls when they won't find out at all until they play.

i find it strangely ironic that the people who are getting most upset are the ones who are against the idea of showcasing a female lead. kind of like how they throw around the word feminist when not one of the females here who agreed with the OP even mentioned the word "Sexist".

i also find it funnier that in her post, the OP clearly made the request for *future* installments (ie. DA3, or 4 or 5, etc. in her words) and not that it needed to be done immediately as all the trolls make it out to be.

gosh, it's like none of them actually bothered to read any of the posts and just made a 5 page rant for the heck of it and prove to all of us how wrong we are...or something.
