Hey all. I am a console user (PS3) who is looking to get a PC to play a seriously modded bit of DA:O. I had posted a query some months ago about what type of build to look at and got some good responses. However, my situation is such that I am limited to purchasing a Dell as I have credit with them. My questions are many so let's get to it.
- Can I get a good and solid gaming unit from Dell?
- If they are up to the task can I get what I need to run the game + mods for a decent price (around $15-1700)
- Which is better nVidia or Radeon (or does it even matter?)?
- What kind of build/specs should I be looking at to maximize my experience?
- Would this build be able to run a modded older game like Morrowind (my all time favorite)?
As I said I have many questions and I hope this community can help me out. I appreciate any insight you all can give me. Thanks and have a great day!

I looked into such a system for someone else only a few weeks ago and found a system for $ 1550. It features an Intel core i7 920 processor and an ATI Radeon HD 5870 video card, very powerful for a game like Dragon Age.

Thanks very much for the reply. That is exactly what I was hoping for. I read your full post and must agree that having a rig built from scratch would be ideal for this purpose but I just don't have the ready funds to do it. Such is life.
