Frankly I do not care what EA and Bioware does regarding taking Mass Effect to PS3 and beyond.

The only thing that I am asking is that they remain with the storytelling and provide an excellent conclusion to the Trilogy in ME3. Like everyone I do not want to be disappointed in regards to the decisions I have made in the previous games.

Also, I want some of the characters from ME1 to remain in ME3, like Tali and Garrus. I am hoping that they will add some gameplay on PS3 Mass Effect 2 so that they will be introduced to those characters so that they will return in ME3.

I am rambling and I am not sure if what I said makes any sense but I hope it does.

I looked it up and the sales for ME2 are not bad. They're just not terribly epic. It is EAs second best selling game of this year so if they can boost the numbers with a PS3 release it is just good business.

Meanwhile Blizzard put ME2 sales on the pocket in 48 hours.

And only for PC.

I will be frank; this is blizzard. Their developers could use dollar bills as toilet paper and still make more profit than most games.

Nobody knows the numbers exactly, and youll never get Bioware or EA to admit ME2 was a disappointment for them from a sales perspective.

However, one this is clear. ME2 was a hugely hyped, massively overrated game that turned out to be nowhere near a top 10 release game. Just because we dont know the exact numbers doesnt mean we cant see that ME2 just cant compete with titles like Red Dead Redemption for example.

Youd think with all that mainstream dumbing down they did, they wanted success that was appraoching that level, but I guess we wont know for certain.

Still, they are clearly very proud of the host of unprofessional perfect scores the game receieved from "professional critics", giving them an "epic" metacritic score at least.

Red Dead Redemption is a Joke compared to Mass Effect 2. Sales do not reflect what the best game is. I would rather run around as Commander Shepard any day compared to a Dried out cowboy with a very poorly developed backstory

Gotta disagree with you there, Red Dead was great. I don't know what you mean by "poorly developed backstory". Did you actually play the whole game? If so, you would have seen that while the details were spare early on in the game, Marston became much more fleshed out later. It was a unique storytelling style for a videogame, which may be why some don't like it.

It did sell alot more than Mass Effect 2, not to equate sales with quality, but it did have the advantage of being multiplatform on day 1.

Here are my two cents on the subject.

I bought Red Dead Redemption in the first week. I did enjoy it, but after the first act the game, I didn't really understand the reasons for continuing. Up until the assault on Fort Mercer, the game was excellent. After tracking your Billt to Mexico, he just appears right there out of the blue at the end of that act, and you kill him right there. Also, I really didn't understand why there was a need to go to Blackwater. And the ending...the ending, for me at least, was an incredible WTF moment.

Also, I came into that game never having played in an open-world setting before (GTA: Chinatown Wars and Oblivion do not count). The games I played up until RDR were either RPGs or straight-up shooters.

The sales were influenced by the fact that it was from the house that GTA built, and to be fair, how many strictly-console players paid attention to Bioware before Mass Effect?

Anyways, these are just my opinions on the matter, and please, be civil about your disagreements.

Mass Effect 1 sold around 400k copies more than Mass Effect 2, yet it would seem Mass Effect 2 was more heavily advertised. 1.9million certainly is not a bad number, but comparing to how much 1 sold with less advertising makes 2 seem to be a bit of a disappointment in terms of sales.

Of course, you have to factor in the pact that 1 was out longer than 2....But I think EA was hoping it'd outsell 1 pretty quickly, and not be so far behind after all this time.

Especially considering the preoders of fans of the first game and the goal to convince new players to try the franchise...
The demo that came out months after the release didnt make sense if the things worked as hoped.

So I take it Modern Warfare 2 didn't do too hot either?

Modern Warfare 2 sold terribly that's why they have a demo out 9 months after the game was released. Of course why didn't I see it earlier.

Of course the disappointed fans will never admit that a post release demo doesn't mean bad sales. They will use anything that may come across as odd to justify their opinions. So instead of framing their opinions in a constructive manner they use anything they can find to try and prove that ME 2 was a failure. It's nothing new, especially among self proclaimed "mature" gamers. Because obviously they know what makes a good game, what makes a bad game, and what is best for every company. Because honestly, that all spells maturity, don't ya know?

I own Modern Warfare 2 and guess what? This is a dumb shooter game. Unlike Mass Effect 1 & 2, the player (you) is presented with two decisions, either you go full paragon or renegade. With CODMW2, you are only given a specific task, go shoot the bastard and win.

As for the numbers game, Mass Effect 1 & 2 are role-playing games not a shooter game. Come on!

RDR while I heard was great, it wasnt groundbreaking like GTA4 was. LBP2 might be awesome and halo reach, meh, I was never a Halo Fan. GO MASS EFFECT. oh and OP ya just stop trying to hate on ME2, be happy for Bioware, seeing as your a loyal customer and all.

Oh I know he was, I was aiming that more directly at tonnactus. I'm sorry if it seemed like I was ragging on him. I assumed he'd realize I was supporting his side by being sarcastic about the other side. My appologies.
