1. Rock guitars have no place in a medieval fantasy game unless it's a licensed adaptation of A Knight's Tale.
2. If you want your rock music to sound "hard", don't have guitars that sound like farting hamsters.
Seriously though. Am I the only one who thinks rock music is completely misplaced in a game like this?

God no! If I may make one wish for Dragon Age 2, it is that Bioware stay the hell away from crappy modern rock music with guitars that sound like farting hamsters.

Yes.
Well probably not the only one, but I for one like it. I wouldn't know why any genre of music would be misplaced in a fantasy game.

It is possible to have a rock style/fusion soundtrack done for these kinds of games, but not easy. I'd say Bill Brown is one of the better composers to have done work with that in mind.

Seriously though, did you? That... wasn't modern rock, as I know it. And I happen to like "modern rock" mixed with these games. AND in DA:O the in-game music was anything like that, so I don't know what the hell you're complaining about.
& to OP, if you do find the mp3, could you send it my way?

Yes, it seemed like a motife that is likely to be expanded upon. I wanted it to go further bu t I assume it's being held back for the cut-scene where it takes place (like the battle for ostegar) or at least a trailer closer to release.Estel78 wrote...
The chorus part was pretty great actually but then it went nowhere. I mean, i expected the music to build up to a crescendo or something but it never happened.

During the run up to the first game, the style of the trailers worried me a lot. They seemed to focus only on spectacular fight scenes scored with horrendous rock music with guitars that sounded like chihuahas run through a blender. The game itself however, appeared to have gotten it all right, with orchestrated music throughout. However, when Thirty Seconds to My-ass started playing during the ending credits of the first game, I immediately deducted a point form the game's score.
Yes, I'm probably insane, and I'll probably be flamed and ridiculed even more for being so detailed and longwinded in my explanation. But here's the kicker: I don't care. I've made my point. You all have a good day now, and I wish you good luck in finding that piece of music if you like it.
