The music was pretty good- up until they forced the goofy guitar riffs in there. Throwing heavy guitar into a trailer does not make it badass, please stop.
No....it makes it ultra-badass!!!
This. Five Stars!

I have but one question - is Inon Zur back in the action?
Ooh, I'd like to know this, too. DA:O's soundtrack was great, IMHO.

1. Rock guitars have no place in a medieval fantasy game unless it's a licensed adaptation of A Knight's Tale.
I disagree, I think rock music would work well in medieval fantasy, just imagine how awesome Dragon Age would be if it had a bit more of a heavy metal theme to it (I am talking about old school rock not the new **** like Marylin Manson's "this is the new ****"), kinda like how Samurai Champloo blended hip hop music and culture with samurai in the edo period.

My favorite musical part in Destiny was at :41 when the track synced up with Hawke's epic sword-to-the-face pummel. That was just faaaaabulous.

Thanks. The new music is great.Mike Laidlaw wrote...
The music in Destiny was a mixture of thematic elements from the DA2 score, reorchestrated and scored specifically for the trailer. It's not available as an MP3 at the moment, but I'll see if we can do something a bit later.

My god, people are going to complain about a tiniest guitar riff? It's actually kinda refreshing and original after all those "so-cliché-epic" soundtracks I heard so far.

You sir win. It's clearly a motive from the trailer.

Actually, now that you say it, I want to know as well. Fine question, sir.

It was atmospheric and mixed some typical epic music with abit of electric guitar without going over the top (the first bit where Hawke appears at the bottom of the stairs also fits in with the new art style where they're leaning towards that Japanese/Samurai feel for the game).
I would also be very happy to get my hands on a download of the track.

I saw nothing wrong with the Destiny trailer. Marilyn Manson and his "so-called-metal-new-sh*t" isn't there.

Yeah I agree, some people just don't like anything that shakes things up I guess. Although to be fair they did get burnt by the whole Marilyn Manson fiasco, I can understand some people being wary, but nothing in the trailer sounded out of place to me.

Agreed! Loved that part the most, though I liked the entire song. Adding some rock elements is nice considering that it can be difficult to tell apart the music of anything fantasy-related.
Also would love the mp3 for download.

If the trailer music is really a patch-work quilt of what we can expect to hear in Dragon Age 2 I'm stoked. The soundtrack was good for Origins, but the only memorable pieces were the main theme and Leliana's elf song. I wish we could have at least maybe a sample of one of the themes we heard in the trailer. I'd be happy.
Agreed
So... I know in another thread a dev said they would work on giving us the Mp3 of the trailer's music... any word on that yet?

That was definitely my favorite part of the trailer music. The rest was ehh, but I loved that part.
As for songs from DAO, I particularly liked the Lake Calenhad Docks music: here.
