THIS on the other hand works really well. I've probably only watched the trailer 3 or 4 times, but I've listened to it over a dozen times.

the most epic parts of the soundtrack are 0:39-0:44 and 1:45-1:51
gave me goosebumps.

Also to whomever said the guitar in the trailer sounds like farting hamsters, just lol at your foolishness.

Also, I think rock music is great for such games. Mind you GOOD rock music, and properly stylized to fit the setting. In other words, music created specifically for this game.

The music in Destiny was a mixture of thematic elements from the DA2 score, reorchestrated and scored specifically for the trailer. It's not available as an MP3 at the moment, but I'll see if we can do something a bit later.
Hooray if the combat music score is like that - please never again such an orchestra backgrounded
whail of banshees like in the DA O Deeproads, lost thaigs and dead trenches for instance.

God no! If I may make one wish for Dragon Age 2, it is that Bioware stay the hell away from crappy modern rock music with guitars that sound like farting hamsters.
1. Rock guitars have no place in a medieval fantasy game unless it's a licensed adaptation of A Knight's Tale.
2. If you want your rock music to sound "hard", don't have guitars that sound like farting hamsters.
Seriously though. Am I the only one who thinks rock music is completely misplaced in a game like this?
I agree completely. I hated the rock music in DA:O: You've just completed the game. You (or me, atleast) get a great feeling of greatness. Then all of a sudden rock music starts playing. It kills the mood instantly.
Please Bioware, do what you did in ME2 and don't include any rock music, anywhere. If you do it like ME1 then it's fine, M4 Part II was pretty damn good. But I would still vastly prefer an orchestral soundtrack without any damn guitars...

I like guitar. I don't like hard rock guitar however. It does not fit into games like Dragon Age and Mass Effect.

I personally think it adds a nice raw touch to it. Epic AND raw.
How else are you going to make it sound darker without sounding generic?
So, I like it. I see it more like a finishing touch.

"The music was specially made for the trailer yaddy yadda" = no MP3 for you guys.
And people what the hell do you mean? I haven't heard crappy Mason in DA:O, not even once.I agree completely. I hated the rock music in DA:O: You've just
completed the game. You (or me, atleast) get a great feeling of
greatness. Then all of a sudden rock music starts playing. It kills the

Are you fellas gonna complaing about a tiniest guitar riff or do you just want to jump into the "Manson and everything guitar" hate-bandwagon? Did the Destiny trailer had some Skwisgaar air guitar solo or what?
I am not sure if this is the same thread I replied the last time, but I say it agan: It's actually refreshing and kinda original having a well balanced mixture of these genres. You can't blame Bioware for wanting to have something different instead of the typical cliché Conan-epic-fantasy music.

Guitars can fit fantasy. Otherwise the music will just sound like some generic track off the LOTR soundtrack.

This is coming from someone who hates the following...
ALL PEGIONS EVERYWHERE!
And heavy rock metal.
But this was cool, a mixture of Modern art and a classic choir orchestra. They are trying to do something new to the fantasy genre and they are doing a hell of a job.
