God no! If I may make one wish for Dragon Age 2, it is that Bioware stay the hell away from crappy modern rock music with guitars that sound like farting hamsters.
1. Rock guitars have no place in a medieval fantasy game unless it's a licensed adaptation of A Knight's Tale.
2. If you want your rock music to sound "hard", don't have guitars that sound like farting hamsters.
Seriously though. Am I the only one who thinks rock music is completely misplaced in a game like this?
Funny you say that... considering every single RPGs I grew up with (from SNES to now) had music that perfectly adapted to rock/metal. It seems like it was composed that way. When we got to the PlayStation era, the instruments were there and a lot of RPGs had "modern" rock. Oh and let's talk about that term "modern rock"... what is it? To me modern rock is like Green Day or something. I don't see how adding a few palm muted power chords breaks your very limited fantasy standards. Fantasy means anything is possible, you do know that right?
I'm a big fan of Blind Guardian... so I guess I'm kinda biased when it comes to mixing Rock/Metal with Medieval. You just gotta let go of the blindfold man, it's made to make you feel the scene not anger you.

The music in Destiny was a mixture of thematic elements from the DA2 score, reorchestrated and scored specifically for the trailer. It's not available as an MP3 at the moment, but I'll see if we can do something a bit later.
I would say 7 Months is a bit later
How is the chance that we get this awesome piece of music ?

Well, that was a tad silly, you have to admit.

Believe me when I say they save everything as a .wav file...Borothir wrote...
Just save it to an .mp3 Bioware!
In fact, all the 29 soundtracks you get with the SE were in .wav format, and I had to convert them all using Adobe Soundbooth CS5 to .mp3 in order to edit the tags of 'em.
Blargh. <_<

Can't say that it was my only reason for buying the SE edition but it was definitely one of them. Kind of dissipointed it didn't make it on the soundtrack. Unfourtunately, Bioware probably isn't even really reading the boards right now being that every one is grabbing their pitchforks complaining how Bioware ruined everything with Dragon Age II kind of ruining a lot of Bioware/community interaction. Thank you trolls!!

I think you didn't quite understood my remark
What I meant is that the ME2 trailer had a badass music in it which was apparently made exclusively for the trailer.
But it was never relased.
@Nerolicious

MY MUSIC FOR THE TRAILER OF 'DRAGON AGE 2' - ORIGINAL and EXTENDED versions
I recently scored an Electronic Arts/Bioware game trailer. Dragon Age 2 comes out next March (2011) and my music on the original trailer can be heard here and the extended version of the trailer (more music:) is here. The film is called 'Destiny' and it looks amazing. Truly. I recorded the music live in Budapest with a choir, brass, 7 taiko drums (Japanese war drums) and metal guitars. Had tremendous fun doing it! Hope you dig it - check it out:)
