I don't say it isn't ok, what I say is that it misuses the name/franchise of Stargate, just as something with a  very un-SW feel would misuse the name of Star Wars, but for that franchise it seems a lot less likely to happen (although some games were sub-quality already)

It's because people expect women to be under 50 pounds, to have DDs and to be a super model.

She really isn't ugly, just rather plain looking and part of that is the fact that she doesn't have classical facial features most people associate with aesthetic beauty. Her proportions are not ideal or very close, she's not wearing makeup and is wearing clothing people are not used to seeing modern women wear (unless you live in the carny). She's rather plain, nothing stands out too much, but that might be the bad lighting on the character...? All jokes aside, there are much uglier women out there, trust me I've seen them!

Warden in DA:O's trailers romanced Morrigan.

Both these games still had choices regardless.

morbidly obese women are considered beautiful in some countries. Beauty is completely subjective. What we can argue about is whether the majority of the audience the game is geared towards considers something beautiful by their own cultural standards.



Many women in america consider Sara Jessica Parker attractive. Many american men would call her a "horse faced witch".

This is what modders and PC versions of the game are for. Either that or Bioware will make other versions of her to maximize their DLC sales.

Agree but you can't argue about beauty. Especially not in a place where everyone can have an opinion without ever justifying it.

I'm not arguing, I'm just stating an opinion as said. But thank you for agreeing with me on the other terms.

Hey, when all the women within 200 leagues are too old, diseased, abominations, relatives or some combination of the above...random, plain-faced pirate women start to be a pretty good option when Hawke is faced with certain death. That's when the Hero of Kirkwall gets drunk and puts on some Barry White, likely getting a brown paper bag ready just in case the alcohol isn't enough.

Yeah. If you visit Gateworld then you already know how some folks feel about SGU. 
Heck, I wouldn't have watched SG-1 if it weren't for Farscape (CB & BB, basically)...I just got 'drawn in' to the rest of the franchise.
But hey, if it'll pave the way (i.e., help pay for) the SG-1/SGA movies, then I don't much care for the deviation (which is what, exactly? Not enough 'gate usage? The overall theme?).

I mean, SG-1/SGA may look 'brighter' or 'cheerier' at times, but they're also 'dark', SGU just kinda focused on that aspect (maybe taking cues from other 'popular' shows like, say, BSG ).

On topic: umm...don't say 'ugly'. That's bad. 
See how subjective terms suck?
