Besides it being ridiculously objectifying, and I think BioWare can be more intelligent than that, my issue isn't that these women exist, it's the claim that your companions should be like them. I assume pirate chick is a companion.

And, it's not like everyone intends to play a (straight) male Hawke.

How is a shot of her 2m away with mist in her face a good angle? Or a shoot of her cheek?

And no she is not pretty by a long shot :P
Kinda hard to make someone ugly while they are standing in a mist cloud/ not even looking at the camera

*pics*

I don't know, I think I can see her face pretty well.

yea me unfortunately too ...

Arguments like this are why comic book women all have the same face and different hair. And that's boring.

Let's decapitate her and analyze each part of her body and if you're happy with each part well ... romance her.

I have absolutely no problem with male romances being as attractive as possible as well. Again, there's no conceivable reason not to make them so.

Not pictures of her (of which there are plenty), but the pictures of the people in this thread criticising her. It'd be interesting to be able to judge them too.

Indeed, that would be something.

Why the hell not???

The pirate lady (cute I agree, but well... ) is a possible LI (David Gaider).

It is objectifying.

They can be pretty, that's no problem. But why should their jumblies be hanging out, their lips be bloated, their midriffs be bare?

Regardless, that woman is pretty and I have no problem with her presence.

Don't forget Hapshepsut or Cleopatra - powerful women accomplishing incredible feats are not unheard of in history.  And would one rather play the life of one of Alcibiades less known lovers - brushing up against great historical figures but never really making a difference?  When we watch films and play games we typically want to take on - or watch - the progress of a really important and interesting person.  It isn't an accident that we are playing the role of a Hero - the story wouldn't have been told if we weren't.

I have yet to see a pic where she looks truly ugly..

Spot on! She is not truly ugly in no screenshot. And let's not forget how Morrigan looked in the SA video >< she was NOT pretty! But she ended up quite well. While Leliana was beautiful in the SA video but fugly in the game.

I am talking based on my likings and without MODS!

Have to respectfully disagree here.. About Leliana being 'fugly' in game. She was, by far, my favorite character in the game, for both her personality and her looks (which were fantastic, btw). And that's without mods as well. But that's just my opinion (and I'm a bit biased since I have an infatuation with red heads :P).

And thats exactly it. You can't create a character that looks perfect for everyone. You can make a character however, who looks acceptable to most; and what Bioware is trying to do in addition to that, me thinks, is to have characters who are not too standard looking; who actually look interesting.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to say Pirate Lady > Fake Morrigan, as the animation on her were also quite off as the model just looks odd

I honestly can't imagine how a woman would find you attractive IRL--I don't care if you're freaking Brad Pitt; with that personality... Is that why you take it out on CG models?

See, my problem with you is that you don't stop with "I don't think she's pretty", you insult the intelligence, masculinity, and mothers of anyone who does.

Yeah, but no matter what they look like, odds are someone is going to pick them apart and consider them ugly.  I've read comments saying that certain extremely beautiful (IMO) actresses are ugly, or at least not pretty/attractive.

I suppose that f*cking both Julius Caesar and Mark Anthony can be considered an incredible feat by some. Good for her. :P

On this positive note, I must be off. It's been fun boys and girls!

Leliana was based off a porn star. This isn't an "average attractive" person.
