Bit harsh? While I think Mother Theresa wouldn't kiss her I dont condone using the ugly as meat shields.

We have to cull their numbers before they can breed more prodigiously than the reasonably attractive. Love Interests must be selected for their... stimulating characteristics, factoring in a number of necessary party skills...

I don't think she's supposed to be a "girl", she's supposed to be a more womanly figure like Olivia de Havilland or Linda Darnell from their swashbuckling roles.  You know back when female roles were cast with women and not teenagers out of high school.

I liked SA Morrigan better than in-game Morrigan.

As for the DA2 chick...hmm, she doesn't look so bad. A bit, what's the term, 'butch'? (no offense meant...I'm really just unsure) Still, not bad.

I don't think she is ugly.

She may not look like a supermodel, but then I don't think a pirate should. Anyone play Mass Effect? She kind of reminds me of Aria T'Loak. Not drop dead beautiful, but kind of attractive in a Xena, Warrior princess sort of way. Either way her appearance in game will no doubt look different. After all the appearances for all of the DA:O party members were somewhat different in the actual game than in the Sacred Ashes trailer.
