I might just tweak her face in photoshop and see where it gets. And I did:
Top = edited version, bottom is the original for comparison. All they needed to do was change her nose/lips/jaw structure and they'd have a significantly different result. Whether or not I improved it is up to you to judge.

 I'm usually more positive than this, but in the above shot she does seem to have borrowed Michael Schumacher's chin as well as David Coulthard's jaw.

I hope that's not where the devs got their ideas for making her look that way ...

SGU's ok. Pace really picked up mid-season and toward the end. Still SG-1 and SGA were way better, and I'd sooner see those come back than see more SGU. 

That said, I didn't really make the connection between the DA2 woman and Amaunet/Sha're (but I guess I could see why you folk would. That pic does kinda bear some resemblance)...

I do kinda agree w/ those who mentioned roma or gypsy or greek.
Ugly? No. Not my type, either, but I wouldn't call her ugly.

Agree but you can't argue about beauty. Especially not in a place where everyone can have an opinion without ever justifying it.

It is impossible to please the masses, nor do I intend to. I fail to see how she could fail to pass off as a "eastern/south european" woman however.
