The ideas of Nietzche and Darwin are more abused and distorted than a japanese school girl in a bad h-game in the modern era. ;)

The second morrigan said "survival of the fittest" I instantly hated not only her, but also whoever wrote her. That phrase flips my "rage switch" whenever it is said unironically.

Perhaps we ought to talk in detail. Do you blog?

I smell and good old fashioned orgy brewing here. Either that or Blur just used Morrigan's old model because they're costly as hell to create. Hmm, first one seems more logical.

300 Morrigan Clones: "Tis cold in my tent all alone..."
Hawke: " !!!"

But yeah, I'm thinking Blur maybe just reused Morrigan's Sacred Ashes model to represent an apostate army or something...

One thing bothers me: Why are all these "clones" women? If they are apostates then we would have some Male Blur clones too..... That is ONE reason I think they are like that on purpose.

Secondly, Flemeth does seem to be commanding them in the cutscene flash back....

Eh, Blur probably thought no one would notice or give a  since if I remember the trailer correctly that was an incredibly brief scene.

Ohh.. that could not be.. .They must have known that people would scan it with a Atomic force microscope.

If you're just watching in real time, its a blink and you miss it scene. But Blur should know better- just about every trailer gets dissected frame by frame now- especially when they throw in quick flashes like they did.

In any event, that mage army was being led by Flemeth, so the fact that they're all female makes me think it may be another army of Witches of the Wild, like she raised against Cormac...

Hehe, that they should have known. I don't know though, typically when you have to look to hard to find something it's because there's nothing actually there. Or maybe I'm just hoping BioWare hasn't resorted to an army of Morrigan's as a plot point.

Interesting theory, though I don't know why she'd be leading an army of witches again and why it'd be taken to to strike the Free Marches, which seems to be one of the weakest and least unified of the nations. It does coincide with the Chantry failing though seeing as an army of Templar's would no doubt be the one thing that could mull her army, no organized Chantry no organized group of Templar's.

Thedas is the second version of the Matrix with all the magic and monsters that was alluded to within the movies. The "Golden City" was the first version of the Matrix. The Maker is the Architect. As with the later model, it exists within cycles ("let us see if she remembers the steps"). Flemeth is an "evil" oracle. Morrigan is Smith. The Godbaby, or maybe Hawke, is "The One".

Plot solved!

Nah, I don't blog. I'm not an adherent of Nietzche or Darwin or anything like that, so I doubt that I could provide any kind of stimulating debate on the matter. :) I just know enough about them to know when they are being taken out of context and abused for dramatic purposes. The drama only works when you don't see the man behind the curtain... ;)

Huum, how to start my theory:

-Well, we know Hawke will be the Champion of Kirkwall, but by whom?
Couldn't it be because of Flemeth?
We know, she will give Hawke something to bring in the Free Marches. What could it be?Surely an ancient and powerful item I will talk about it later). So powerfull, that the Chantry has tried to take it from Flemeth hands, using an army of templar to do so.That could explain this screen of hundred of Morrigan's clones fighting against templars.About this army of clones, perphaps there could be only one survivor : the true Morrigan we all know from Origins, all the others being defeated by the templars.Despite its daughters looses, Flemeth win the battle. But now, she's conscious that for her there's still the Chantry's threat : they will never renounce to this item.

-What could be this item?
Considering the long life of Flemeth, couldn't she made contact with the Qunaris? Her new horned look let me think so.She's quite similar with the Quanri. But why?Perhaps she wants Hawke to belief this mysterious item is a treasure from Qunari. Why are the Qunaris afraid of magic? This item could bring answers to the last question. It surely contains a powerfull magical essence: could it be capable to make a breach in the Veil (like the spell with two arms mashing down the Qunari warrior)?

-Where does it come from?
surely an ancient artefact from the tevintide emperium, which could have been stolen by Qunari during their age of Thedas and more specific Kirkwall occupations.I can easilly image during their retreat, the Qunaris must have abandon it here in Kirkwall? And then later, Flemeth could have find it.But now, Qunaris are looking at this item.

So, Chantry and Quanris are looking after the Flemeth precious possession, but now it is Hawke who got it (the story will explain why Flemeth has give it to Hawke) , and Cassandra is looking after him

Yeah, I have no clue as to the why for Flemeth's motivations. But that frame in the trailer with Flemeth's female apostates against Templars makes me think that somehow Flemeth might tie in to the whole "Chantry in ruins" plotline we're hearing about.

The other thing that might tie with regard to the Free Marches being the epicenter of the Chantry's troubles would be that the College of Magi in Cumberland is right next to Kirkwall and in Awakening Wynne mentions something that they're having a conference or something there right?

Then you've got this from  the Game Informer Timeline of Thedas article about Templars in Kirkwall:

9:21 Dragon Age: Lord Marlowe Dumar is appointed the new Viscountof Kirkwall, replacing Perrin Threnhold, a tyrant killed by the city’s templars “for the good of all.” It is noted by many, however, that Threnhold’s abuses were only opposed after he tried to have the templar order expelled. It is said that Dumar holds power at the sufferance of the templars, and that their order has grown extremely powerful in Kirkwall during his reign. They have become the center of Chantry strength in eastern Thedas and hold their Circle of Magi in a terrifying, iron grip.

So, especially if Bethany is an apostate, seems that the heavy Templar and Chantry presence in Kirkwall may be of some significance. And given Flemeth and Morrigan's interest in the Old Gods and all that, they clearly have no love for the Chantry's tight grip on mages, so I'm sure they'd have no problem with seeing the Chantry crumble. But would they go out of their way to build an army to free weak mages from the grip of the Chantry? Surely they have some other motivation in play....

When I think of an army of Morrigans and Mike Hawke, for some reason Zap Brannigan's 'death by snoo-snoo' sentence comes to mind.

I sense great envy amongst the sisters who keep casting cones of cold at each other.

Are epicly hilarious.

But on topic, honestly id have to call myself a Morrigan fanboy. From the moment i entered the game with my Male Dwarf Noble i sought out to make Morrigan his. I find Morrigan a awesome character, beautiful, confusing as all hell, ect. From what i remember of DA:O and Flemeth (cause i have not played the game in AGES) it wouldnt surprise me in the slightest if Flemeth had a "army of morrigans", totally sounds like something she would do, being a twisted witch and all. Some part of me hopes you do get to decide between helping the Chantry and the Templar or the "army of morrigans" because just out of pure fanboyism for Morrigan, id totally take Hawke to the darkside and slaughter every damned Templar on that battlefield.

Hmmm, if they all have the personality of Morrigan, I may have to side with the chantry in this fight.

Although if they aren't all total cows, I may be persuaded to join. Maybe.

At the very least they both seem to be wearing the same Sacred Ashe style robes- same hand/glove things, same utility belt, same purple top, same skirt......

MOAR morrigan! :o

Well i hope so anyway because i loved her in DA1 although i admit it won't be the same without my warden in there with her/ them lol.

Army of Morrigans in black bikinis, giggling and playing with tubs of nutella, rubbing it all over their bodies.

Mean while Hawke and Variic watch from afar with huge pixel erections.

Varric shouts at army of Morrigans : "You planning on sharing that nutella?!"

Morrigans: "No." (Sten face.)

Army of Morrigans continue to dance to DJ tiesto, with their nutella covered bodies.

I think I went to far....oh well Image IPB

An army of morrigans. Alistair's worst nightmare. xD

There are twins, there are triplets, there are quadruplets. With a grey warden father, a witch mother and the soul of a god, why not have 100 childs at once? Maybe Morrigan's purpose was to make an army of her not just one god child. I'm just saying :)

If it is an army of Flemeth's daughters, why would Morrigan wear the same clothing as them, cpnsidering she has a Jesus-baby and was buggering off to Orlais? and she hates Flemeth.
