This little bugger will not attack me at all, I've tried reinstalling the dlc as well as renaming the bioware folder name in Libraries/documents. I was wondering is there a mod or a console command that would allow me to turn him hostile so I can just side step this little error?

I have the same problem. All other quests in the start area are fine. Cannot speak to Bann, I've even tried using the mage to use an AoE attack spell and nothing. Whether with mods or without. I'm not going through the mess on of uninstalling/reinstalling as it seems that doesn't work for people who have the invisible Leliana issue. I am going to try some of the other DLC, if they bug out then I'm buying no more DLC!

I managed to do it by doing the quests in a different order. Oddly, the quest involving the chests were broken if I did Bann Perrin first! Just did some random clicking and they started to work! Quest now complete.

Try playing the game without mods first, then you'll know where to look when you encounter problems.

It works if you de-activate your mods. If you saved next to Bann you have to walk out of that area to activate the encounter.
