Yesterday, when I was playing, my screen started to spontaneously crap out while I was in the Brecilian Forest. I figured twas just a minor glitch, so I reloaded my save about 3 times and then the problem went away. Temporarily.

Within half an hour, the problem arose again. The problem is that my screen suddenly gets filled with spotty static spots. I turned my TV off and back on again, and the problem persisted. I even returned to the dashboard and rebooted the game. I figured out that tis not my TV that is causing the issue. For the rest of the time I spent playing last night, I had grace periods in which the glitch did not show up, but they were short. The problem was frequent.

Today, I booted up Dragon Age again and the problem is still there. Tis irritating me. When I save while the glitch is happening, go back to the dashboard, restart the game, and reload the save, my character even appears in an entirely different place than where I left him/her when I saved. Sometimes it goes away when I do that, sometimes it does not.

Please, if you know of this glitch/bug and how to fix it, let me know. While it does not affect my gameplay, it makes the game look very shetty and ruins the experience for me. I do not wish to play one of my favourite games with black crap swarming all over my screen.

Here is a photo of what it looks like. Excuse the crapiness. If you look closely enough, you will see all the black junk.

Make sure to check thsi isnt happening with other games.
This is generaly one of three issues, your xbox video card is going bad, your xbox video port is going bad, your cables connecting the xbox to the tv are going bad.

Other causes...are TV going bad or TV connection ports going bad, or the disc/harddrive/memory on xbox 360 going bad.

Test with other games first to see if its just dragonage, if its just the game then try cleaning the disc and clearing you memory cache on xbox and if you have the game installed to a hard drive uninstall it/delete the installed game so it dosnt read it from the HD and the disc instead.
If you can try connectinga  friends 360 to your equipment and see if its the same issue, also try switching out connection cables.  You need to really do a trial and error process to track down the source. Should be pretty easy to follow though, hopefully its not your 360 going bad .

*Edit* forgot another option, your eyes are bad and have holes in them lol

I had something very similar happen with dragon age and it ended up being a problem with the XBOX itself. As the above user suggested, try other games. For me, Assassin's Creed wouldn't even work passed the start up screen. In the worse case scenario, you might be on the way to a RRoD. That ended up being the problem with mine.

Ah, **** me in the arse.

Of course, an Xbox would crap out like this. Thank you both. I will see what I can do.

I fear it may, indeed, be the xbox itself. I have read that, when this symptom shows up, the Xbox may be well on it's way to death. That's totally great. I'm getting a PS3 if it breaks, and since Mass Effect is coming to the PS3, tis all the more reason to buy one.

If all else fails, I will wait till the xbox just dies. Most unfortunate and infuriating, these Xboxes.

If your xbox DOES die it is actually not as bad of a scenario as you would think. All your data is totally safe on the external hard drive, and Microsoft will probably send you a new one for free (you just have to do without it for about 2 weeks). It's only noteworthy for its annoyance levels of waiting for your new console and then reinstalling all your DLC on your new box once you get it. Even though it happens far more often, xbox's red rings scare me far less then PS3's yellow lights.

If your within Warranty get it replaced for free. Takes only about two weeks.

If not then see how much it would cost for them to replace, if thats too much then check out a local game repair place. Unless you know a bit about electronics and can do it yourself (The RRoD is generaly caused by simple melted sodder that can be easily replaced) if its the video card/video memory your screwed.

A shady solution may be to clean your equipment up really nice and make sure all your data is pulled off it and such before its unplayable. Buy a New 360 thats the same model as your old one. Switch them out and return your broken one for a refund.

Well, guess what? The moment I read your responses and decided to try it out, I turned on my Xbox and got the amazing "E 74: Please contact customer service" message. Hardware failure.

I'm shipping it out this weekend. Thank you all, though. I SHOULD be covered, as they extended the warranty for RRoD and E74 to three years, and I bought mine in 2008. It is Macrohard, however, and they are cheap capitalist bastards, so I can't be certain, can I?

And yes, my data is nice and safe on the hard drive, but it'll be a pain in the arse waiting for them to fix my FailBox.
