I've tried adding light effects, and haven't had much in the way of results. How do you guys do this?

Are the lamps only to be lit during at some point in the cutscene or are they to be lit all the time? You might want to 'lit the lamps' in the area rather than the cutscene perhaps?

I have them hanging from the ceiling and when the camera pans around they can be seen giving off light from no apparent source. Maybe I was using the wrong effects, or using them incorrectly? The light source looks fine, but when I added a lighting effect, thinking that would make a glow or flame, there was nothing visible. I was trying to do it in level creation. Is that my problem?

Question best posed in the level/area creation forum i would guess? How do they look in the level and the area? Are they good there but bad in the cutscene?

Uh.... probably not. I have a baked light, but I bet that's not what you mean. I'm supposed to do something other than render the light maps?

No you have it correct, you have rendered the light maps so that should be okay.
