 According to the wikia the grey warden were riding these beasts a long time ago, now everything that has been associated to the Blight in past times like arch deamons and darkspawn etc is there, what is missin is grey warden kickin their asses on mighty gryphons, I know they are just a few greys out there today but the gryphons shouldn´t be extinct...
Will we see them in the game?

Okey someone provide me with the qoute, i believe there are a lot of stuf we haven´t seen in the game and what i´ve read there truly are stuf that game journalists are prohibited to write about or show.

I believe we will see a gryphon or maybe even ride on in the end...

If the devs didn't include horses, I think they are not going to go to the trouble of implementing griffins, or grippens, or gryphons for that matter.

I diddn say twas a bad thing.. i´pretty sure the gryphons will appear just like the *spoiler*

I don't think we'll see gryphons. Certainly we won't be able to ride them, the game doesn't have a Z axis.. They do need stuff to spoil us with in the sequels you know..

If I would have said, "do you think we will see Duncan climb a huge tower and then jump off it to ride on a ****in dragon? You would have said NO.that´s not likely gonna happen...

And now we have all seen it in the trailer...

Based on all the other RPG I've played, if it's stated that creature 'x' is extinct, chances are you'll either come across a lost colony of them or a fertile female with an egg cache or something similar.
