Is it just me, or does Garret Hawke look like Craig Horner, albeit fuzzier and manlier?

Just noticed something; if you real closely look at Bethany's hand, you can see what looks like the tail end of a red tattoo on her arm. Or just her hand. And it's barely visible, but it looks like there's also more markings on her neck, mostly covered by the scarf. Again; we see that red marking.

And I must say that... oh man, wow... I must say that Bethany's belt looks awesome!

Are you sure that isn't just her scarf? I see it on her hand, but it looks like just her scarf on her neck.

Hmm, I do see it. It looks like there's a bit of red on her other hand, too.

Indeed, red tattoos. Whatever, her outfit looks really stupid. What's the point of chainmail if it won't protect from an arrow aimed to heart or throat?

Actually, I kind of like her outfit. I think it's better than the furry-shoulder mage outfits that we had in DAO.

Don't you know? It's a universal fact that in fantasy, the reverse-psychology tactic of "the less is covered, the more is protected" always works.

Ah, that's why in DeathSpank 2 main hero protect his balls with Thongs of Virtue?

But DA2 is not DeatrhSpank, which is stupid and ridiculous on purpose, for the lulz. In case of DA2 they give the game all this gritty look with blood and visceral combat... Naked body parts look stupid as hell. Imagine Shepard in Mass Effect with naked butt. Looking good, eh? Every geth will know where to aim.

i thinks it's more of an extension of the sleeve instead of a tattoo

*cough* Morrigan...

That's why I've made her Arcane Warrior and dressed in Blood Dragon Armor. Morrigan stabbing an ogre in the mouth with a poisoned blade looks spectacular, and her "You will learn to fear me" sounds much more believable. Same goes "I can not be defeated"... Arcane Warriors become almost invincible later in the game.

The point is not to restrain movement(do you know how many pounds a full chainmail weighs?)and protect her lower torso(where is easy to aim for in distance) and since she is a mage and stays at the back of the battlefield she doesn´t  need as much armor as to say Hawke, and no i don´t see any one there armored with chainmail bikinis.

Chainmail (the whole BODY armour) weighs LESS than the modern gear of US troops.

It weighs about 27 kgs...

We, Russian, always joke about incapacitating US troops by stealing toilet paper from their backpacks.

The whole point here is that Bethany's outfit is strange... Surly she could cover her chest with chainmail as well. Look, arrows fly at a parabolic trajectory, right? So archers will aim up. For all we know the most lethal places arrow can hit are eye (instakill) and chest (heart/lungs). So, why leave chest naked?

OK. I will ask you a question (in good spirit, REALLy! ) :

Do you really think games are realistic? I think the following:

Games are made realistic only for the sake of Social interactions within them (that also is heavily idiotic, if you really think hard about it.... because its only comparitively more "real" by comparison with other games). This
makes the player feel that he is playing a "serious" game, where his intelligence counts.... Kind of image boost for free.

Since we really don't care about the game mechanic, to be realistic, the game takes complete freedom with it.

I think that screenshot is out of one of the exaggerated parts of the narrative, when everything is bigger and less covered.

Do you think there is some symbolism with the Lightning Bolt from his staff hitting what i think is a Chantry/Templar statue?

Because out of honor people wont aim for the chest, no one wants to ruin that pretty chest of hers.
But if you want to talk realism, a chainmail wont stop an arrow or a good thrust with something sharp (well, maybe a fork, but who knows?). Also, if the chainmail was any longer to protect her chest as well, it would have made it more clumsy to wear. And besides, mages or apostates arn't trained in martial combat, they are trained in blowing things up, which makes them untrained in wearing heavy stuff. And not to forget that her F cup is allready heavy enough on its own, making it even more heavier with chain will turn her into a Flemeth-DAO version, we don't want that.

Plate mail was almost impregnable. They used Halberds and Maces to fend off Knights wearing this walking tank gear so as to cause internal bleeding and concussions instead of uselessly stabbing at them with swords.

Ooh. You do make a good point. The symbolism where the lightning from the extended trailer hits the Chantry-style statue and shatters a good portion of it may, i nfact be a small bit of symbolism. Hrmn...

Plate mail didn't protect French Knights against English Longbows at Agincourt.

Upon closer inspection, though, I have noticed this isn't a Chantry statue, in truth. Behold the power of screenshotting!

could the army of mages have something to do with what Wynne mentions in Awakening about the Libertarians trying to get support to pull away from the chantry entirely?

do you think Flemeth could be an Old God? Or am I completely sounding ridiculous here...or did someone already say that? Lol
