mages in many fantasy settings are mostly cowards. A warrior will willingly eat many fireballs to reach his target, the mage runs away when he's out of mana because he's terrified of physical combat

See: stupid (eating fireballs) and smart (moving out of your enemy's attack range).  Bravery =/= stupidity, so stop equating the two.

But that quanari used magic first, what looked like a force push after Hawk used his flaming....weapon....thing.

wat?

the qunari used some kind of holy smite after hawke used magic.

ond going offtopic: If a holy smite is not magic, and templars are not mages, what the hell it is? a lyrium explosion?

i would only call Hawke a coward if he saw that Qunari and started running, but he ripped him in half.

This.  A million times.

But stupidity leads to courage! If the person doesn't understand that there's werewolves in the forest, he'd most likely go in than the more courageous man who understands.

hah, typical mage excuse: "melee combat is dumb because getting blows to the face sucks"

if your only mean to aproach your target is to advance, warriors do it, at expenses of the damage. Mages flee like girls when they run out of mana.

You don't think it's a teeny dishonorable, using that logic, to attack them with a sword?

So if I'm a soldier in Africa and I run out of ammo, it's dishonorable they attack me with knifes? After all I'm just wearing camouflage and I am not ready for hand to hand combat.

So if Hawke had simply called upon his...I don't know, Hell Hand powers (we also don't know the requirements for casting that spell--maybe you need to be at half life or something) right away, that would be honorable? Yeah, not seeing that. Killing him now, or killing him later doesn't change how "honorable" it is.

The courageous man would go in regardless of any knowledge he has.

Brave or not it's not going to matter to the warrior when he's dead.

coward thinking.

Soldiers charged on foot against machine gun nests in World war, some died, and the rest neutralized the machine guns. That's the way of the warrior.

Remeber napoleonic wars with soldiers advancing in robes against cannon shots.

As I recall . . . we don't do war that way anymore do we?

Because of the massive number of deaths.

I think a more interesting question is which would be the aggressor in this inevitable Heroes’ Miscommunication battle, which would be the first to realize that they had been manipulated the whole time and allow himself to be briefly incapacitated to reveal the true threat, who are the second stringer villains who teamed up for this cockamamie plan to pit them against each other, what is the uncontrollable weapon that is then lost control of, and which first suggests the other one’s finishing move in order to stop it, before they then trade off defeating the other's foe, nod respectfully that in another time they would be enemies but today they have found a friend, and depart for their home territories, their horizons broadened and their wills steeled for the trials to come? And what the hell would Gorilla Grodd think of this mess, I mean, he’s a super intelligent ape, he’d have seen that this matchup was pointless and long since retreated to Borneo or something.

I think a lot of things.

Was the blue glowy eyes thing originally something planned for the warden? Are Hawke's red eyes going to be disregarded in the same way?
