I think a more interesting question is which would be the aggressor in this inevitable Heroes’ Miscommunication battle, which would be the first to realize that they had been manipulated the whole time and allow himself to be briefly incapacitated to reveal the true threat (..)

But what if they're just fighting over a LI du jour?

... although i suppose this still boils down to the same thing.

Like I said, Hawke is level one! Warden is obviously a level 20+ that has PC mods.

How do you know Hawke is first level in this?  He might be Beard Level Awesome and that is just one very beefy Qunari ... or maybe Hawke's Beard and the Qunari's Horns are struggling to cancel one another out and the effort is leaving them both greatly weakened?

I wish my level 1 gear in origins looked that cool.  If he's level 1 he definitely owns the Warden in style.

Hawke wins if it's arm-wrestling. :D

Against my Warden? Hawke dies like the ignominious chump that he is.

They would both live, but everyone else in the world would die....they would cross swords, and the world would explode from to much awesome.....but the Warden and Hawke would live.

My Warden still wins, because, in the end, he's still the Blight Hero and a super-mage.

I would root for the (default) Warden. He's portrayed as simply a badass normal minus the glowing blue eyes, whereas Hawke is portrayed similarly but with a secret horrific power added on. The kind of character who spirals out of control and then the Warden has to track down and kill.

As far as who I think would win, just based on their trailer presentations and not taking into consideration levels, enemies faced, etc, I'd say Hawke, because that's a pretty devastating ability he's got there.

My warden is dead. I don't see him winning any fights anytime soon.

My dead Warden beats Commander Hawke.

His rotting corpse wins.

Yes, because Hawke won dishonorably.

Hawke won dishonorably? What, compared to the Warden who did jack all? It was Sten who pushed the Zerg Rush off the cliff, Leliana who shot down the emissary, and Morrigan who brought down the dragon! What did the Warden do? Stab the already bested dragon in the head!

The only way Hawke could seem dishonarable in a fight against my Warden is if he dug him up ripped him in half with that spell and then went back to kirkwall and said "I totally killed the guy who killed the archdemon"

You cant judge off of a trailer, if you did, Hawke would easily destroy the warden. Not you character in the Game! but from the people n the trailer.

In terms of lore. Yes, ultimately the Warden would still be able to take on Hawke. The Grey Wardens fight what essentially amounts to the Apocalypse in the DA-universe. Sorry, but as capable as Hawke is, that is not a conflict she will be fighting. Not saying Hawke's challenges won't be harsh, but they won't be the Apocalypse.

The church is collapsing. That's close enough.

And what the hell would Gorilla Grodd think of this mess, I mean, he’s a super intelligent ape, he’d have seen that this matchup was pointless and long since retreated to Borneo or something.

He would be thinking of how to turn them both into apes. Unless one of them was a chick, in which he'd be thinking about hot gorilla-on-human-woman sex.

I always found Gorilla Grodd to be a disturbing villain.

No? It's horrible and would probably involve lots of death, but that's still not the End of All Things that the Blight is. Even Flemeth was worried about the Blight, after all.

I think Hawke fought justly and didn't win by cheating. Here's what happened in the trailer.

1. Hawke wears down the Qunari's health with stabs, slices and cuts.

2. Qunari stuns Hawke with a lowblow before Hawke can finish him off.

3. The stun is represented by Hawke having flashbacks (don't we all have them when we are stunned).

4. When the stun wears off, Hawke can use the new mage finishing move, because the Qunari's health was low enough.

I'd say Hawke had at least two thirds of his health left at the end of the battle.

Conclusion: Epic win.
