Gordon Freeman is infact Hawke, send back in time by the collabration of the Illusive Man and G-man, causing a rift in spacetime, and the creation of the Hawkes world, the statue of the ogre in ME2 is proof of this theory. Also Sheppard is Adrian Shephard from Oposing Force, he had his memory erased and was given 3 diffrent back stories, in 3 different universes, in one he became female, another male, the last became G-man, turned Hawke.
