What does disabling the Synthetic Insights office security do?  I tried disabling it and I've tried not disabling it, and it doesn't seem to make any difference with anything.  The same doors are locked, the same number of guards are present, etc.  What's it supposed to do?

Either A the guards at the entrance are not there.



B. you can go up without the pass Loriq gives you.

IIRC the guards are aided by combat drones if you don't disable Synthetic Insights security.

Yep.  During the first fight, if you cannot convince the female Port Hanshan guard to stand down via dialogue options, she will run to a nearby console.

If she reaches the console before you can gun her down or disable her with biotics. she will push a button that will activate an assault droid..

You can avoid the fight with the assault drioid by disabling the security console or by dialogue.

As I remember also, doesn't the alarm go off in the entire facility and send every guard to kill you? The time before last I wasn't able to disarm SI's alarm and when I came out I had guards swarming all over me, when it was done I'd killed every guard in there.

I think disabling security only matters if you aren't able to charm/intimidate the two schlubs by the elevator when you come up.
