However, that faith has been shaken a bit because they also at one point said ME2 would not be on PS3... but now it is....

What they said, back before it had even released on anything, was that it wasn't also hitting the PS3 at that time.  Which was true, and had to be said because a bunch of rumors were going around that it was going to be on all three platforms on Jan. 26, 2010.  Then about a month after release, people started up again because they found PS3 references in game files.  The response, again at that time, was "Mass Effect is for the PC and Xbox 360."   Which, at that time, it was. No one from Bioware ever said anything remotely close to "This will never, ever appear on the PS3. Ever.  Seriously.  We really, really mean it guys." so I don't see why you'd be upset over a promise never made.

If this is true, then my bad.  I guess I just took 'never' out of their words, but I guess that was ultimately an assumption I made.  Again, I really don't care that it's on PS3 now, the more the merrier.  I just hope that ME3 in no way suffers in quality because of the PS3.

So let me get this straight, people are mad because ME2 might be ported to the PS3?

Huh?

I think some people were mad because of that, but I think most people were upset that maybe ME3 would suffer because of this: since PS3 doesn't have ME1 and thus cannot make ME1 choices, then will those choices be considerably downplayed in ME3 to accomodate the PS3 users?
So MOST people would actually prefer both ME1 AND ME2 to be ported to the PS3 and not just ME2 so any fear whatsoever of ME1 choices being downplayed in ME3 are alleviated.
But I'm pretty sure BioWare will still make ME1 choices important, perhaps giving PS3 users ME1 choice options in the beginning of ME2.

Bioware said in an article they wanted to sell 10 million more video game units so the ME2 PS3 release and SWTOR and Dragon Age 2 should hopefully help them reach that goal.

and to the release I say whatever. I own a PS3 and Xbox 360, but I only really use my PS3 for Blu-ray movies and PS3 game exclusives (Heavy Rain... that is all I can think of for the moment). I'd just wonder how to ME1 to ME2 transition will work on the PS3.

The transition won't work most probably... maybe there could be some software to import PC-saves to PS3 saves... but somehow I highly doubt that...

ME1 for PS3 would be genious... maybe as PSN-game? Someday... on my TV... and... as I am already at asking Bioware for stuff... I'ld like KOTOR for PSN too :D

I know this Bioware better find a way to give us PS3 owners a way to make the ME 1 choices because its bull sh*t that EA can not or does not want to get the rights back to ME 1 and put it on the PS3. we all know this Mass Effect 3 is not exclusive after this news

I must agree that one of the only reasons I brought a 360 was because of ME. I do have a PS3 but I cant see me playing it on that. And trust me when I say if PS3 get free DLC that 360 owners had to pay for, I wont be happy and I will be letting MS know about it as well.

Look at the mw2 forums, console wars which are started by ps3 users inciting xbox users whom take it out on pc users. I dont care what they do with the game as long as i get a slice of it but i fear more for the good community

And that's Microsoft's fault...how?  They're not the boss of Bioware, so what will bugging them about the price of DLC on a platform they don't make accomplish?

So, you're just making that up right?  I mean, unless you've read the publishing agreement for ME1, I don't see how you'd know this.

I am sorry but I think me2 going to ps3 is horrible. If I cannot play mgs4 or heavy rain on my 360 then why should they get to play the best game on the 360? Plus if the ps3 people get content that we do not get or have to pay for I will be completly upset. Take our money to port the game to the ps3 so you can make more money and give them content that we had to pay for or will not get. But if we want a ps3 exclusive they tell us to buy a ps3. If they want me2 thaey should get a pc or 360. Thats just how I feel, please discuss.Image IPB

Yes, I also feel that letting more people take part of an excellent game is upsetting. I fume at the thought of others enjoying a good gaming experience.

Seriously, it is impressing that you've learned how to read, write and log in to a forum well before you crawled out of the sandpit. The mentality is still there.

Now that's just selfish.

I think that Bioware made an amazing game, and that they should bring it to as many players as possible so that they can be rewarded for their hard work and dedication to a wonderful video game franchise.

May I also point out that several important former Playstation exclusive franchises (Final Fantasy, for instance) are now available for XBox.  Do you believe that the game is worse because of that?  Do you think PS3 owners have a right to be angry at Square for allowing you to play the game?

Plus if the ps3 people get content that we do not get or have to pay for I will be completly upset.

Why would you assume that PS3 players get content that you don't?  It doesn't make any damn sense.  PC didn't get stuff that XBox did, and vice versa.  I don't see why PS3 consoles would get special treatment.

Okay.
I think that none of your points are relevant, none of them present any reasonable or logical reason why porting to PS3 is bad, and your entire objection amounts to "I don't like PS3 for some arbitrary reason and so I'm mad that ME2 will be available for it".  That's a stupid reason to rant.  Grow up, get over it, and be happy for Bioware that they're broadening their audience for a game that deserves every accolate it gets.

So... more people get to enjoy this great game... how horrible indeed. Oh wait, they are PS3 users? Is that bad? How do PS3 users rank in horribleness compared to, say, pedophiles, terrorists and racists?

Is the amount of fun that can be had in this world finite? So, if PS3 users have too much fun playing this game, there won't be enough left for ME3? Is that it?

I don't get it either. BioWare is in it for the money like any other healthy company. So another port doesn't bother me. Ports can bother me if they end up being concessions that hurt the game experience on my own platform (PC). The damage is already done, so adding another platform doesn't really hurt it more. :P

Lets see, I got a 360 and played ME1 on it, after a while it RROD and I bought a PS3.

When ME2 came I bought a new PC to play it. Now they announce that it is coming to PS3.

Should I be mad?

I'm willing to bet there will be a "GOTY" edition coming out shortly after the PS3 version for Xbox and PC with most DLC included at the initial release price...

For USUALLY; you will pay to use it right away... look at fallout for instance... or Oblivion

Umm...because those are first-party titles. Sony owns them. M$ doesn't own Bioware or ME.

Plus if the ps3 people get content that we do not get or have to pay for I will be completly upset
 .

Then be upset. Because not only will they get Cerberus Network stuff, it's all but certain that they will get every piece of DLC made between now and the time the game goes gold. No reason they shouldn't. It's no different than a GOTY edition of a game.

You never paid for the DLC as much as you paid for the privilidge of using it now. There's a difference. Fallout 3 GOTY has DLC free that other players paid $40 for.

But if we want a ps3 exclusive they tell us to buy a ps3.

And M$ tells me the same thing for Halo and GoW. Because they funded the development and own all the publishing rights. They OWN them

That was never the case with ME2

I dont have a problem at all with them getting a full DLC released package a year after. I mean exactly, look at oblivion and FO. I got the deluxe edition of Oblivion w/DLCs for 9$. FO3 for 25$. Its because I waited a year. Thats the price you pay for buying it on release. So OP stop your bellyaching and seriously PS3 users, xbox users, PC gamers. It doesnt matter the console it matters the person, and right now you sound quite silly

You miss the point like a freethrow shot...........Your telling me that if ps3 users get exclusive content that we will not get or have to pay for or get content we already paid for for the price of the game or even the discounted price you will not be upset? Get real....This is why I am upset, its no worse than gta4, ps3 users had to wait how long to get the dlc? If you are going to release cross platform all customers should get the same benifits. Not hey you old customers will get this, new guys will get this. Its no worse than the dish network, had service with them for over two years now but if I want hd I have to pay for it but if I was a new customer I get it free for life. I just want something for my long support of bioware and thier games. I have always shelled out money for thier games and dlc and for them to give something away that I paid for or give something that I can not get is not right and does not show appreciation for the loyal fans you have had since the beginning. I am not flaming ea or bioware. I am simply stating that if you are rewarding new customers that did not get you where you are then do not forget about those who have been with you since the beginning.Internet tough guys make me laugh, unable to have a conversation without trying to pat themselves on the back..

You miss the point, You don't own Exclusive rights to xbox or ps3 so it's not your place to say where totally innocent people can or can't get screw in content.

as for dish network, if your so upset at it then cancel and re-subscribe as a new consumer.

and Bioware has rewarded me more than a new consumer....I got to enjoy their games and dlc long before these new consumers so yeah rewarding enough for me at least.

I wasn't complaining about it... merely saying its the natural route such things take...

We got the GTA series on PC/Xbox and others too... I'm not mad at all, hell if ME2 sales keep going up it means more budget for ME3 and DLC. Stop being jealous... jealousy is such a blinding emotion.
