You know how many variables they would have to keep track of and write outcomes for? Get real.

If they did an MMO they could have the Royal Army faction (Templars/Mages), the Wardens, and the Mercenaries (rogues/apostates) as the 3 factions. And the Darkspawn would be the AI faction. Tell me that wouldn't be awesome.

That would be the furthest from awesome that ever dared to rear it's face across the Internet.

Now begone.

"Anders501: In the back allys of denrim, I slow pull out my dwarvern handcannon and begin showing you how to properly use the cocking device"

"AstridElfPrincess: Oooo I watch in amasement as I slip out of my female nobles clothing"

They can't make a 3rd single player game. Just like KOTOR the story gets too big for single player.

Where is that written?

It wouldn't be awesome. Some people like playing games that have an actual story arc and conclude before you die.

I would like this. Dragon Age already has MMO style combat, and if they make the story as important as it is in Star Wars: The Old Republic than I don't see a problem. I actually can't imagine DA not going the MMO route eventually. If ToR is successful BioWare is obviously going to want to make more MMOs and probably use one of their own IP's and I doubt they would go for another space opera theme (Mass Effect) due to cannibalizing sales so Dragon Age is the obvious choice.

I think you guys don't understand what a MMO is. MMOs can have storyline. Look at WoW's story for Wrath of the Lich King.

MMO's and co-op are as common as weeds, and just as fun. Why do people keep asking for this?

Thank you!  Finally someone with some sense.

I have 4 80s in WoW, been playing since 2006, and its the biggest piece of feces to ever land in the feces pile.......sure its the biggest, with the most players, but at the end of the day its still a big smelly piece of feces.....and that is why I don't play anymore

I understand that MMOs can have storyline, it's one of the things I'm looking forward to see in TOR. But not every Bioware game needs to be an MMO. Dragon Age is the story of Thedas, it can go in any other direction other then an MMO.

I have played World of Warcraft since vanilla.

Their story line is subpar. Do you know how much has been retconned? You don't even want to know.

Now, Warcraft RPGs would have been ingenuis.

Or just the original RTS, they had decent writing, if very simplistic. The game is just....bleg...and noone pays attention to it, since it all boils down to "kill 40 fuzzy red horny owlkin" or something like that.

Well I don't see how they can make a 3rd game where all the choices from Origins, Awakening and DA2 carry over. That's gonna be like 200 hours of gameplay with hundreds of decisions being made.

It's too much.

Pretty much. I very much enjoy RTS games with excellent story.

More than half my guild has no idea what's going on in the lore of Warcraft. It makes me sad.

"So why are we killing this boss?"

"Well, he was once a Paladin, son of King -"

"Oh hellz yeah! It drops my epic boots!'

Then obviously it is impossible for them to create Mass Effect 3. Apparently their idea of a triliogy can no longer be completed due to your infallible logic.

I play games for the story, not for an endless amount of fetch quests. I deal with enough idiots IRL, don't want to be forced to deal with them when playing games.

Its still not *impossible* .... nothing is ....... it would just take a longer development time, some games *cough* AlanWake*cough*Starcraft2*cough* have very very very long development times......hell I waited like 13 years for Duke Nukem Forever and rarely complained :P

Mass Effect isn't as long as Dragon Age or as open ended.

Well wouldn't it be more fun to RP with another REAL person than to chat with the same scripted NPCs over and over again?

Not to mention you would no longer be a hero of any importance, lol, Yay! Your now one of 5000000 heroes of the shire, don't you feel special? You just like everyone else, and in no way unique, and at the end of the game, which there isn't one, you will have the same gear as everyone else, and have achieved the same thing, but instead that means nothing, because the big baddie respawns every hour!!!! Sooooo stupid, shouldn't even be called MMORPGs, there is nothing relevant to roleplaying in them anymore, so easy and stupid, made for the dumbed down masses.
