I just don't get why there has to be an MMO everything. The appeal of DA to me was that it was like reading a book in video game form. I like there being a beginning, middle and end to my games, rather than infinitely running around just picking crap up for no discernible reason.

Not really.

King / Queen: You either hear about Cousland, Anora or Alistair.
Brecilian Forest: Elves or Werewolves.
Morrigan: DR or US.
Mage Tower: Templar or Mage.
Redcliffe: Save or destroy.
Connor: Saved (ritual with isolde or mage tower ritual) / possesed / killed.
Dwarves: Bhelen or Harrowmont.
Anvil: Saved or destroyed.
Ashes: Defiled or kept.

I do believe that was the summary of the large choices. Some of these won't see any mention at all in the Free Marshes due to only bothering with Ferelden, although it's entirely possible to see it mentioned in dialogue. The bigger ones aren't numerous. It's not any different than the standard Mass Effect game.

So true.
WoW ruined one of my favorite RTS franchises for me. Story was ****ed up, villains turned into one-dimensional foes, etc. Dear god, Illidan was one of the most interesting characters in the whole damn series and look how the poor sod ended up.

You just listed 18 different possibilities!  And that's not even including your companions and romances and stuff.

And most of them count simply as lines of dialogue. Mass Effect had equal, if not more, to work upon due to the galaxy remaining the same and meeting the same people. Redcliffe being saved probably won't even be mentioned, nor will Connor. These just aren't important things in the life of Hawke.

Well look at it like this.  You probably played DAO more than once right?  Instead of playing the same game over and over, you can play one that never ends with unscripted dialogue from other (real) people.  You can play it every day and always have something to do.

Every story must come to and end, even the great ones. If they don't, the story matters little.

And the story of Warcraft has ben ruined because of it.

Stories which do not have an ending are horrible things. They wither, dry up. If they once inspiried, now they do not. If they once were great, their meaning is lost.

Id rather have scripted dialogue with a compelling character and playing the game over and over instead of grinding and having noobs go all out Leeroy around me, thank you very much.

I'd rather have a small amount of amazing dialogue and a good story than something that doesn't end and endless dialogue consisting of leetspeak and idiocy.

Well I don't see how they can make a 3rd game where all the choices from Origins, Awakening and DA2 carry over. That's gonna be like 200 hours of gameplay with hundreds of decisions being made.

It's too much.

They don't HAVE to follow DAO nor DA2, to make a 3rd, or a 4th etc... DA is a setting like Star Wars is. Any sort of stories can, and will, happen there, in many diverses chronology like TOR isn't set in the same chronology as other SW stories.
A DA3 doesn't mean it will follow DA2. It could be set before, or way after, or it could elsewhere in a place where Ferelden is barely known. Its a big world, and they barely scratched the surface of it.

As for a MMO, I think the setting is still pretty young and needs a lot more development. It lack a lot of flesh to host a MMO as seen in DAO/A, but Bioware could have much more background ready than we know of (its probably the case). But really I think that's the outcome of TOR that'll decide if a DA MMO will see the day of light.

What is 100% sure is that EA invested almost a billion dollars in Bioware's acquisition, and thats not several millions sales of DA and ME that will recoup that. So you can safely bet that DA setting will be used as much as they can in any shape possible.

I would not have a problem with DAO as an MMO provided of course it did not have the same trappings. If it could;

Allow me to not have to rely on other people to do instances where i could take my own characters in a party and control them like i can do now in DAO while i run a Stratholme, or Scholomance type dungeon. Tailor the instances so that a player can either bring thier own 4 or 5 characters or get 4 or 5 other people, but there should not be a penalty for running the instances with just the player's characters.

Not force me into any sort of mandatory PvP situations.

Not play games with the loot like binds on pick up or binds on equip.

Tailor the drops to the classes in the instance, Rogue gear should never drop when there is not a rogue in the party. This is especially annoying with binds on pick up gear.

Keep the boss battles interesting but i should not have to do the hokie pokie, or dance a tango to fight a boss.

Set the quests up so that i should not have to spend hours running out to collect X number of items from mobs, only to return to the quest giver who will send me back out the area i just left for something else from the mobs i was just killing.

That is a list of my pet peeves with WoW and they were the major reason i stopped playing it after 4 years. I enjoyed WoW until it became just a grinder for me, all i could do was farm or try and run instances with unreliable people which just took all the fun from the game. So if you can fix some of the wrong stuff with WoW i am in for the same price as WoW.

@OP: Take your time and explore this board. You will notice two things:

1. You are the 100th person to start such a discuss and all ended with a majority not wanting DA or ME to end in this dead end called MMO.

2. You will notice that the Bioware community is pretty much everything except for people you want to share a game with.

So please, leave ME and DA to single players and ruin other games like you did with the KOTOR series... we don't want to play with real life persons. If I need real persons then I simply call them. I can also roleplay PNP with my friends. But PC games are my break. I play them to get a rest from others. Its time for me alone... and I am pretty sure most people here think the same way. We don't want you in our games!

And yet ironically enough the only people who could get me to pay for an play an MMO are the team of BioWare and LucasArts.  WoW doesn't count--my boyfriend's financing that because he wants to kill more monstars with me :P

Hell is other people, eh?  Funnily enough, there IS a Dragon Age MMO.  It's called Dragon Age's tabletop roleplaying game + Gametable.  Heaven forbid that we should use our own imaginations for this type of stuff.
