Geth and Quarians have some of the best developed backstories, so if I can mention two races together, it'd be those.

Some other races are still epic such as the Volus and Turians, but the whole history between the Geth and Quarians, the ethical questions it raises on differences between organics and synthetics, and their general aesthetic design makes those two the winners.

I prefer asari. Quarians are pathetic, but people like to 'root for the underdog'. How utterly predictable.

Quarians. By far.

How can you NOT admire the Quarians?

Pretty easily, as it happens. I'm not a huge fan of any group of creatures self-obsessed enough to throw a 300-year pity party.

I'd have to go with the asari, if only because their culture is so varied. Turians are awesome too.

Agreed. The easiest way to NOT admire the quarians is to NOT be 13 years old.

I find the Geth very interesting, and Legion's loyalty mission was one of my favourites, it was one of the only times my ultra-paragon shepard wasn't really sure of the right course of action (completely erasing the heretics' beliefs via brainwashing vs killing them, but is it really branwashing if it's just an error in the program, etc.). I also really like the Turians, and I hope ME3 lets us go to Palaven at some point.

2.) Asari

3.) Turians

Quarians by far. The only species in MA universe to create Artificial life. Driven from their homeworld by their own creation, to wonder the Galaxy in a rag tag fleet of ships. Battlestar Galactica anyone?

Prothean a close second.

This one directs the readers of this thread to its signature.

Seriously though, whoever thought up the hanar deserves a medal. ;)

I like Drell. Geth are awesome but it doesn't seem like they'd ever be capable of biotics. Turians are too rigid (remember, Garrus and Nihlus are exceptions, not the rule), Krogan are too barbaric, Salarians are mayflies and Asari are basically female elves.

Can't say it better.

Though I will say, volus make me lol. I often think of the chinese guy in The Hangover saying "ha ha ha, it funny 'cause he fat!"

I like the asari. I like how their flaws are presented in ME2. Their flaws are numerous and subtle, surfacing as things like prejudice, obstinacy, and materialism/superficiality. They have the potential to lose the identity of their own species, in trying to embrace the culture of other species. They tend to draw proceedings out to fit the philosophy that fits their long lives, instead of realizing, like Matriarch Aethyta, that they must move at the speed the shorter-lived species move at. Good stuff.

Quarians and Turians. I don't like Krogan because they are all about war and stuff and all of them are more or less the same. I sort of like Salarians for the same reason the OP likes them but...ehh. Volus are funny when they get angry and I like what they sound like through their helmets. The first time I met an elcor I liked them because their way of speaking is so unique and I like how creative Bioware was in making that race. Asari I am a bit indifferent about, they are just there in the background for me in ME. Batarians are ugly and mean. Vorcha are ugly and mean

Krogan, geth, and Hanar.

The Krogan are just awesome. They kinda remind me of Brutes form Halo, but only a little. They have a very interesting backstory. Almost 99% infertile to supposedely 'save' the galaxy from them. But even with the Genophage they keep there warrior spirit alive.

The Geth are amazing. Sure half of them sided with The Reapers, but the other half are fightng them. Plus Legion is a BAMF.

And of course the Hanar need a bigger role! I demand Blasto as a squadmate for Me3!!

Krogan and geth

quarian are a bore, Their tragedy is nothing in comparison with drell and krogan

If i have to kill the quarian race to ensure geth survive, I WILL

Vas qwib qwib seems to be the only senseible leader, others are too driven by pride of their pathetic race and not being able to admit thier wrong doing (kinda like cerebrus)

1) Elcor - I love elephants... space elephants!!!!  And I LOVED Hamlet in the voice of elcor :o

2.) Rachni - I was really taken by the way life is lived through a song for the Rachni.  They seem so gentle and peaceful.

3) Asari - They have a great deal of variation and their flaws often show... also... they have Knights Errant!!!!!  Go go Don Quixote Asari Justicar!  That would be exciting!  Who's her Dulcinea? ;)

4) Hanar - Despite my hatred of jellyfish I really enjoy how polite the hanar are.  They are also hilarious to mess with.

5) Geth and Turians tie here.... I love Legion.... so it's not the best reason since it's just one independent mobile platform... but it's so cute!... but I LOVE the turian councilor... and the landscape guy... and that bar tender... and Garrus of course.... haven't met a dull Turian yet.

I really like all the aliens... they are all awesome in some way.

Raptor why do you dislike all the alien species? 0_o

I guess there’s no denying that I’m not the biggest fan of aliens. I guess I’m one of the few people who would be reluctant to live near alien species. And of course when you play a game it would affect your decisions and actions. I don’t know I just find them disgusting because firstly Turians remind me of the aliens from District 9 (don’t get me wrong, Garrus is one of my favourite characters), Krogans are brute dinosaur like creatures and No thanks to some of you people who replaced Tali's head with Predator's. And that’s seriously what I think is behind each Quarian's mask. I wouldn’t want to even touch them. Would any of you be content to pat one of the aliens from District 9 on the back? Maybe you would, but I wouldn’t. That’s the main reason.
I’m not really speiciest, I just hate criminals and I would treat any criminal of any species with no mercy regardless of race in mass effect.

Interresting...

So, are you for real or are you just trolling now? I find it rather odd that someone who dislikes aliens so much picks up a game like Mass Effect in the first place. So, are you also "racist" towards fantasy species such as Elves, Dwarfs and Golem?

Personally, I think you're just a little xenophobic, if you're for real that is.

Why would I waste my time trolling on a Mass Effect dedicated forum section? This site is perfect for finding about everything that’s mass effect related before anyone else. So no I’m not trolling.

I actually never expected that Mass Effect was going to become my favourite game. Infact I’ve never even heard of the series before Mass Effect 2. What makes Mass Effect superior to the other huge titles like GTA 4, Fallout 3 etc is the aliens.  That’s what makes the Mass Effect society great, it’s what makes the ME society mesmerising! And obviously they are a reason why I like the game but does that necessarily mean I would support aliens in Mass Effect?
Maybe  I am racist towards fantasy species such as elves, dwarfs. Because I would definitely not play as a dwarf in Dragon Age. But how does that stop me from enjoying Mass Effect? (purely an example, I don’t really like GTA 4) It’s like saying I despise the gangsters in Grand Theft Auto 4 but how does that stop me from loving GTA 4?
Many of you like aliens, that’s perfectly fine. I like Cerberus is there a problem with that?

It's easier to like humans in a sci-fi game like Mass Effect than in a fantasy setting like Dragon Age. In sci-fi we tend to be the underdog, whereas in fantasy we tend to dominate everything.

I highly respect humanity in Mass Effect, even if most of the humans Shepard comes across seem to be douches.

Thing is, without the Turians we would also be reaper goo (No Normandy), or without the Quarians (no geth hacking = no evidence vs. Saren/Benezia), or without the Salarians (could not locate cloning base on Virmire), or the Asari (could not decipher beacons) etc.

The moral is that no race should be on top, we all need to work together - this is what TIM doesn't get.
