Anyone else getting this? For example: New > level. Create a Room in the Level. Click the Models button over to the right, and then filter the list by "prp" (props), the drop down changes, and you can see a list of props... alchemy stuff, and anvil, etc.

When I open the + next to Anvil, though, the toolset lags, and it takes a long time for it to show the actual contents of the anvil folder. Then I can see the contents (the anvil prop), but choosing it in the list creates more delay, and there's like 10 seconds before I can actually lay an anvil down in my room.

I thought I screwed up something when I was installing python, and when I reinstalled the toolset it created a new database over my old one, and I lost a lot of work. I was running windows 7 x64, and figured it was a hassle, so I went back to Vista x64. I FINALLY just finished updating all the service packs and crap for Vista, and installed dragon age, the 1.1 pathc, and the toolset on a CLEAN install (with no python, btw).

After all of this, I still get the delay. I built an entire room with little to none of this lag, and can't figure out where it's suddenly coming from. Can anyone else try laying an anvil in a room liek i"ve outlined above, and at least tell me if it isn't just me?

I will give it a try and get back with you on my results.. Do you have any static lights within your room or anything?

I just tried it like you said and I had no issues with the list. While placing props within the level does seem be a little laggier then placing walls and such. It was still doable and not bad.

I have a feeling it is caching the models every time you open a folder in the model tree. Hence, some lag depending on your machine.

edit: And yes, I experience this issue as well.

yeah, no lights, but i did realize it's much faster when I do a direct search for "anvil" in the filter field... so maybe it's just choking on having the whole list of props to choose from, but it sucks that I can't just poke around the list, I'm going to have to know exactly what I'm looking for in advance.

I got an AM2 Athlon Phenom 9950 (4x core 2.6 GHz) with 6GB of ram, so that's disappointing to hear it's not just me.
Just curious, what's your system set up like, and is it x86 or x64? I heard some issues with x64 setups, and wonder if I'm running into that...

The lag I found was almost exclusively due to too many folder directories being open at once. Just having the one folder open and all my lag disappeared.

I run a AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dyel Core Processor 5600+ 2.8GHz with 8gigs of Ram and Windows 7 Premium x64 version.

So I am not too sure why you would be experencing the lag worse then me.
