I was just thinking, and I apologize if this topic has been covered.  More than likely it has but I am not going to scan thousands of pages to find out.

Anyway, I was thinking about Characters like Tali returning in ME3.  I fear that it will be like Wrex and Ashley/Kaiden in the fact that if they lived in ME1 they had small supporting roles in ME2.  And since there is a possibility that your squad could die at the end of ME2, it is likely that the same will happen to them in ME3.

However, from what I have read it seems that most players did the loyalty missions and upgrades and their squads survived.

Could Bioware take for granted that they survived and bring some of them back as active squadmembers, like Tali, for instance, since she was in the first two.

I ask this because it is possible that Shepard could die at the end of ME2 as well and that means you won't be able to import a saved game/character into ME3 but will instead have to start a new one and a new shepard.

What do you think??

I'm going to guess that Bioware isn't going to make another game consisting of recruiting individual characters. It would be a huge waste of their resources to make completely new characters. Plus, there would be no punishment for your squad dying at the end of ME2.

Bottom line, I think that Bioware will bring back the majority of your squad from ME2 to ME3. And I have a feeling that the fan favorites will make their way into ME3. I also have a feeling that Tali and probably Garrus will be in ME3 as usable squad members since they were in both so far. It wouldn't make sense for Bioware to take them out, since virtually everyone who has ever played the game is a fan of either Tali or Garrus, or both.
