Hey all. I'm wondering what is the best Mage Gear you can get in terms of + damage + resistance + willpower and what ever else. I didn't see a thread on this and I thought it might not be a bad idea to get a reference thread up, I'll contribute what I can and I ask you do the same in the comments and I'll update the original post as we go.

Blood Magic

Ring: Blood Ring - Gives: Bonus to Blood Magic - Drops: ??? (not sure where I found it)
DLC - Belt: Sash of Forbidden Secrets Gives: Bonus to Blood Magic - Drops: auto-acquire with the achievement "Harvester" from Golems of Amgarrak

Nature Damage

I believe the blood ring is given to you after "Proving After Dark", in Orzammar.

The Lifedrinker amulet gives a +4 to spellpower, and you get that from a chest in the Wyrmling lair during the Sacred Ashes questline. It's blood mage only.

Tevinter Mage's Robe gives +5 to spellpower and +2 to mana regen. Sold in Wonders of Theadas.

Also, can't forget Staff of the Magister Lord, though I'm sure everyone knows about that. If not, the merchant in the mage's circle sells it.

Thanks Arthur, added those items, will go into my game shortly and add what ever is in my party storage chest too, assuming it's any good.

Missing boots. I used Fade Striders for their pathetic + 1 Magic bonus (don't think other boots even have bonus Magic) or Magus War Boots for +12 defense.

Winter Boots seem to be the way to go if you have Awakening.

Thanks Termo, any idea where you got the Fade Striders or Magus War Boots from? I just had a look and I'm wearing the "Enchanters Footing" but it's only +6 to defense.

You get the Magus War boots by getting the Trickster Whim in the summoning circles quest in the library in the tower. After doing that, you should get a chanters board quest called "Unintended Consequences" where you fight the Trickster Whim. Kill it and loot it to get the War boots.:wizard:

May not be so magey, but during my DAO playthroughs I found Lifegiver and Andruil's Blessing very useful for a mage.
