very true.
how about a game that you dont play as a human? a different race. yeah you would get to hear about Shepard but still you would be doing your own thing? And im sure they would be another thing that would be on its way to kill everyone at some point lol
i just had shivers from a vision of that future.. the forum filled with posts saying that its not fair we want to continue shepard
I think the greater problem would be that there wouldn't be any way that you would be able to get a consensus over what would be the best race from the ME universe that players would love to play as if Bioware were to change it, obviously as a human i.e. Shepard players can see and identify with the problems and challenges of getting humanity "accepted" in the galactic community i.e. ME1 and then proving their worth in ME2. In ME3 however, I think that these two stigmas of an increased human involvement in galactic affairs would come good in a sense to fight a "real" threat but the problem there is Shepard's new association with Cerberus and how he/other main characters e.g. Anderson deal with that.
Back on topic, what I would like to see as a future direction for the series as a possible starting point would be Bioware following the same idea as Bungie and allowing players to experience the backstory to the period of time that passes throughout the ME trilogy, Mass Effect First Contact maybe?
