And it's on sale atm for $45 at Steam. Although CD Projekt's deal to buy it through GoG.com without any DRM at all is tempting. DRM sucks. It's also $45 over there.Nirvesta wrote...
Hmmm well the Witcher 2 already has my money as they put up their pre-order on steam a while ago.
Not liking the $60 price point change for PC, so I'm not pre-ordering DA2 until I see better. It feels like one more thumb at the established fanbase of DAO, and bad juju for future titles.

We have no information abotu Steam or otehr digital channels. If/when we do, we will let you know.
This information is from 3 months ago. :/ Can we contact EA about this then? How?
There's 5 days left ticking on the free preorder upgrade and we have no idea what to expect on Steam. We can't be expected to believe that no one is interested in or knows this information that we're being kept in the dark about.
What's happening here is we're being deliberately kept from making an informed purchase because this information is hidden. EA must think we're fools.

The SE is not coming to Steam.
That doesn't tell us exactly what's coming to Steam, if anything.

.... is buying a physical copy really that big a deal in today's society? Or is it more a "well, I won't buy through EA's store" thing?

wow, there are bunch of crybabies. I would've only expected this from console gamers but I suppose this is what happens when you make something mainstream.
Here is a person that pretends not to care. Care to send that $20 my way so I can get some DLC then in the case that there's only a standard edition on Steam? No? Then why are you "talking?"

Not sure if you saw this, but Chris Priestly said this 8 hours ago: "We have no information on Steam."
So yes, either no one is interested, no one knows, or we're being kept in the dark. Anyway, best of luck contacting EA and let us know how it goes!

I sent a support ticket to their Purchase/Subscription department. Not sure what else to do since their Dragon Age forums portal to here. It would be surprising to get any real information though.

For the record that DRM statement is in regards to Steam since Stallman's followers think Steam is bad. But yea I agree, this whole game feels like they're giving one big finger to PC gamers.

Chris Priestly, fair enough that you have no information about DA2 on Steam. But could you please find out by asking your contacts (Fernando Melo? EA?) if DA2 will come to Steam after the 11th?
Surely someone must know. After all, DA2 on Steam has been discussed at Bioware and/or EA headquarters. Otherwise, how else could the decision have been reached that the Signature Edition won’t come to Steam? So it’s hard to believe that the question of DA2 on Steam after the 11th has not been discussed at Bioware/EA.
If the issue is that information about DA2 on Steam cannot be revealed to the public yet, could you please at least let us know that you cannot let us know.
As you can see from all the attention the topic of DA2 on Steam has been getting on these forums, some sort of clarification would mean a lot to many Dragon Age and Steam fans. almighty.zer got a support ticket from EA, but who knows if or when there'll be a helpful response; since you work for Bioware, you're a much better bet.

some people live in places where there arent 'gamestop' all around...
here in Brazil, for instance, I would never be able to buy most of the games I own on STEAM on stores, and that goes for DA2 SE as well, as its not being sold anywhere!... and even if I did, they would be waaay overpriced...

Same here, I wouldn't have considered it otherwise. In the mean time I will play the MMO Rift in March.
This is not a boycott of BioWare because I love their games (ME1 is my favorite game of all time) and they are my favorite devs and I hope the game is the best seller ever. This is the best choice for me personally, I will buy DA2 when there is a Ultimate Edition on Steam or it goes on sale on Steam. However, I would have bought it if the SE Edition was on Sale on Steam within a second. And I hope EA and BioWare reconsiders these moves in the future.

Does it have something to do with EA wanting more fingers in the pie? Possibly. If that is the case, it is slightly dangerous, because hard-core Steam loyalists may just put that money into another game and wait on the "what if it comes later called Deluxe Edition and Steam has it on sale?". Ah, but isn't marketing a crap-shoot anyway really...
Sounded to me like the regular game *may* end up there but not the SE. Perhaps it has something to do with the entitlements/bonus you can get. who knows.
I am disappointed to, because I use Steam as does my husband ( I converted him, naughty me) but we got ONE hard copy DA2 SE instead of two just to see if it ever opens up. Doesn't sound like it, but it sounds like a behind the scenes business decision rather than a way to ****** off PC gamers. Bioware probably isn't saying though ( or doesn't know on a slim chance ) because it is an EA thing.
This is quite a year for games though. Witcher 2 looks absolutely fantastic. I'm in.
EDIT: Hey I am playing RIFT too. Great game, so far anyway. The 6 month sub is a good deal too. Even leaves money for other games
Yep, addicted gamer here. <3

I agree but they should be telling EA the situation, but EA reps post here and frequent these forums too. Also, yes thus far I love Rift.

Consumer activism, now this is something I can get behind. Mister Wong can expect an email from me too, and I encourage everyone else to do so, be sure to note (assuming this is true) that you won't buy the game unless it's on Steam.
Also, make sure to clarify that we want the SE edition on Steam, as it should be.
