I'm rather tired of this assumption; if someone complains about anything it must be because he has no Girlfriend.

About ME3 Squadmate: Everybody expects a Batarian. Not my favorite, another Squadmate that may as well be human because he has the same abilities. Being Batarian would be interchangable, he may as well be a turian.
I would have wanted the third game to be all about the Reaper plot, slowly building up to some explosive finale instead of recruiting my team again.
We already have a good team. Well, they are immortal as long as shepard survives, they just take a nap occasionally.
We have People, there wouldn't be anything to add other then a few new facial bumps to my collection. Batarian Squadmate? Maybe a timetraveling Prothean Squadmate? What for?
I did like all the information i got from Legion about Geth and Quarians, but it would have been all the same for me if i had someone else as a Squadmate and got my dosage of geekyness from a Star trek component in my Captains cabin.


I would even like if shepard went out all alone. "People, i saw this time and again and am tired of it: you are too stupid to take cover, every single one of you has been standing on something which i used as cover at the time, blocking my Shots. I'll be doing Missions alone from now on!"

It's nice to have specials at my Disposal which i wouldn't have. I can have Enemies fly through the air as a Soldier thanks to my Squadmates. Is it important if Thane or Jacob did that?

If everyone's survival was gueranteed, we'd have quite a lot of Squadmembers to choose from and we wont have to recruit new People.
Well, maybe we run into future Squadmates on our way to whereever we have to be to do something to kill the Reapers. And they'll be like "sure, I'll come with you and help you try to prevent this Threat to all organic Life in the Galaxy!"

A Hanharr would be awesome! But the shedding..

Honestly? The rachni are soooo low on my list of wanted squaddies. Number one is another Spectre. Number two, another turian. Number three, a volus, even though they'd be completely useless in battle.

Seeing as rachni lay eggs....I don't think there'd be a love scene. NGL seeing a rachni fleet show up and Shepard using a charm or intimidate option to tell the other fleets to chill out and then every race you'e helped out take on some reapers would be a fantastic ending to shepard's story.
